Jazz at Bucks Litmus Test—Game Thread

this is a disaster 4th quarter from the jazz coaching staff.

Mitchell has no ****ing legs in his shot-- I cannot ****ing believe they think they can play a player for a full ****ing half.

I hear you. I think though it is accentuated when the player is being relied upon to shoot and initiate a lot for that many minutes. A lower usage player or player that relies less on scoring can play 40+ 24 minute halves pretty easily. But in any case he did get two short rests in the 2nd half.

And then of course the likes of Harden have done this a lot over the years.

They were the wrong calls but they were very very hard to see without the replay

Some of them... the problem was some were huge swing calls...

Bledsoe basically tackled Gobert on the paint screen for a few seconds when he was late for the rotation Giannis gets an and one...

Biggest problem is our shot went to straight garbage... tired legs or whatever the reason was.

Guys played well and I’m very pleased with the effort. Thought we were able to do some things and that they got good production out of the role players ... thought we’d lose by 40.

I did think they should have reviewed the Giannis leg hold as a tech or potentially flagrant... if Joe had really tried to force his way out or if he had not felt it early a guy can get hurt on that play and it was clearly intentional... like that’s worse than shoving a dude after a play... essentially a blatantly obvious trip.

It would have been interesting to have a healthy Exum attacking the rim. Maybe Giannis gets in foul trouble quicker.
Between Splash Mountain who has elite defensive numbers at the rim and Giannis I don't see how he manages to get clean looks at the rim unless he's really turned a corner tbh.

The Giannis/Ingles leg grab was obvious to me but I am biased towards the Aussie players more when I watch games. You could even see Ingles complaining to the ref right in front of him as it was happening lol.

It’s a pretty cheap play and didn’t think it was super necessary... kind of a dick move... joe shoulda dropped the boot on him.

Malcolm Brogdon was super impressive tonight. Bledsoe was awful. I definitely moved Malcolm up a couple rings on my FA wishlist. I think he could handle move responsibility and would be a good fit on and off the court. They gonna have to write some checks... wonder what they budget is on Malcolm.

Joe would've been able to contest the rebound had Giannis not grabbed him, he had turned around to try and go to the basket, realised something was on his leg, looked down and saw Giannis had his leg in a hold and then started yelling at him and then the ref.

I guess... I think he should have made a scene and gone at Giannis... if he doesn’t stop trying to break free he could have easily injured himself... he had him wrapped up with both arms and his body was on the foot... I thought it could have been reviewed and a tech assessed.

Agreed, I think something like that is worth getting a tech over.

Malcom is in my top tier of realistic FAs. The dude has great Stockton-esque moves to the rim: just a quick shoulder fake + hesitation and... boom. No wasted motion. That's right, I said it.

For me, this was the most entertaining game of the year! I had so much fun to watching Rudy vs Giannis. I want to know what Giannis' EFG% was when guarded by Rudy, because it felt to me like Rudy won that matchup. Also, I thought the coaching was great on both sides, with a lot of adjustments and counter-adjustments (e.g., Rudy on Giannis, Brogdan targeting Mitchell, Korver looking for mid-range, etc.).

I kept thinking about how a playoff series between these teams/coaches would be amazing to watch. Specifically, I wonder if Rudy's defense or Giannis' offense would benefit the most from consistent match-ups.

This season has been the biggest letdown in all my 31 years watching the team.
Hey, I got no problem with fans wallowing following a loss, and I understand this is your opinion, but I feel like your statement disrespects the dumpster fire that was the 2010-11 season. LOL

Quick reminder, on that season: as of 1/14/11 we were 27-13, but by the end of the year we would: 1) go 12-30 the rest of the way, 2) miss the playoffs, 3) trade our only allstar, 4) have our HOF coach retire, & 5) hire Ty Corbin!

I think most jazz fans have blocked that season from memory.

Weird to say after a close loss on the road to a top 5 team, while down two key players.... on the 3rd road game in 4 nights... on the backend of yet another 4-game road trip
added a few things.
This was basically a scheduled loss.... then the Rubio injury happened.
