No Gobert,No Mitchell in top 10 on 1st showing of All-Star voting

He’s been weird about dunking this year. Even from the beginning he was saying he wasn’t sure is he’d do it again, and so far this season he hasn’t dunked hardly at all. It’s been strange. There is the possibility somethings wrong with him, or he’s protecting himself from injury by not trying such dangerous plays. I could still see him being in the contest though seeing as he won it but who knows.
He's been weird with everything this year. It's like an alien came down and stole all his skill or something. ;) But yes, I think something is wrong with him/injury we aren't aware of...who knows, but he's not the same player he was last year, that's for sure.

Are the all star captains only allowed to draft the players that are voted in top 10 for frontcourt and backcourt? I'm not really familiar with the whole all star drafting process.

Does that surprise anyone?
Not me.
Neither deserve it. Mitchell has been horse **** this year
This is ********!! He’s been very good, he averages 20 and fills the stat sheet. He’s a second year developing player, who is a first option on offense without a real #2 scorer next to him. We are easy to defend in that regard. Yes his %’s are down, but he’s getting less open shots, and teams are focusing more on him then they ever did last year. Were you idiots expecting Malone dominance this year? I’m sick of hearing people say he’s been crap this year, as he’s been very good. He’s barely started the process of learning to be successful in the nba.

Yao Ming was voted in playing six games as was Kobe a couple times despite tearing his ACL after only a few games.

Just another hint that the NBA is a joke.

Why is the nba a joke. Fans should vote and get to see the players they want. The nba is still a business and allstar weekend is mainly for the fans, to promote the league and make money.

There should at least be a minimum amount of games or minutes played.

It's not fair to the players who deserve to be there when guys like yao, iverson, Kobe make the team while not having a year to justify it

Which proves my point. He's not deserving of an all-star berth. Look at his numbers when I made the post. They were worse than Trey Burke's when we rode him out of town. Mitchell had been losing games , not winning them (prior to his hot streak). And even at that, he lost the game in MIL with his horrible 4th quarter. If you want the glory, you have to shoulder the blame. And Mitchell has had a chucker's season.

Look, I'm a huge Donovan fan. I love what he's done for the franchise and state. 99% chance he'll be a superstar. But this season, whether through injury, fatigue, sophomore slump or whatever, has been extremely disappointing. I didnt expect Malone dominance, but I expected better efficiency than last season, which was not all that impressive in that area.

That you think so makes me proud. To start off your rebuttal by saying, "he averages 20" shows me how little you comprehend. Shooting 10-30 is far different than 10-20. Mitchell has been inefficient this season. There's no denying that. His lack of progression from last year to this one is frustrating. He's the same player he was, except his shooting has been worse. Defenses were keying on him last season, too. He was the primary option, certainly by the end of December.

He's been a chucker at times. Good gawd, how many times has hd taken lonh 3's early in the clock? Its annoying and he rarely makes them. Now last night, his game was amazing. Not a bad shot I recall. Several great passes to teammates. That's the Mitchell we want to see. And if he was close to that every game...and Im not saying he has to score 30+. If he lets the game come to him, I'd be happy to say he deserves to be an all-star. This year I cant vote for Mitchell OR Gobert. There are better, more deserving, choices.

"Donovan should make it. He has 20 ppg." You also failed to recognize he's 1 to 1 in assists to turnovers and is ranked second to last In field goal percentage in the 30 players scoring over 20.

I love donovan also. Still doesn't mean he deserve an allstar spot THIS year. I do think Rudy does but won't make it

Joe Fulks made two All-Star games shooting .312 and .314 from the field.

The people saying Donovan should be an all star. Be real. There is no way he deserves to be an all star

Mitchell doesn't get in simply because the guard spot in the West is ****ing stacked and he hasn't been good enough. Only four guard spots available and two wildcards, even if we assumed they all went to guards and you ignore Klay because he's been meh and CP3 because he's hurt, I'm still not sure how you can make the argument for Mitchell over Curry/Harden/Lillard/DeRozan for any of the guard spots, and then you're competing with guys like Westbrook, Holiday, Booker, Conley for the Wildcard spot, let alone whatever forwards that might be deserving of the spot.

He might have a shot in the East but in the West he just hasn't been good enough compared to the other great guards of the West. Hasn't necessarily played bad though it's just more of a testament to the talent in the West.

Who does donovan beat out guard wise? Steph? No. Dame? No. Harden? No. Jamaal? No. Thompson? Maybe, but I'll say no. Westbrook? No. So that's 6 guards that I quickly went through that would clearly beat him for a spot

Don't think he will get picked in the East either. Lowry , Beal, Simmons, walker, Wall, Butler, Olapido, Irvine are all better than him as guards.
