What's new

Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown is so gosh damn overrated. Seems to happen to a lot of Celtics players.

And I am the only one who has noticed how good Favors has looked this year, both with the eye test and statistically? He is a really good player right now and is working his *** off crashing the boards, trying to defend a league of incredible post up players, and doing a lot of little things to help the team. He's been great.

If fair means us getting fleeced then yeah. I don't get the boards obsession with trading Favors. He has been an extremely reliable post up defender and looks lean and fit as hell this year. He's running the floor great. There's only one person we should be obsessed with trading and that's Ricky Rubio.
He plays 23 minutes per game. No matter how great he has played or how much you or I value him the jazz obviously don't value him too much or he would play more.

It's because he's redundant to Gobert. Favors is just a slight tier below Gobert, like Steven Adam's. He has value to a team where he's the starting center. For this thread, Boston has Horford and doesn't need him.

Exactly.

Jaylen Brown has been my primary 2021 target for a while. He does fit perfectly and he is on the outside of that Boston rotation. I don't think he carries that much trade value for an AD trade. If Boston rivals LA for AD, its going to come down to Tatum and picks vs Kuzma, Ingram and/or Lonzo.

What we do know right now is that Boston loves Vucevic from Orlando. He fits them perfectly now and would still fit perfectly if they find a way to get AD.

Something like this works for all 3 teams: http://tradenba.com/trades/rJXg1RjbE

Boston gets Vucevic, Utah 2020 1st, future protected 1st from Orlando

Magic get Favors, Rozier, and Yasubele

Jazz get Jaylen Brown and Mozgov

Why for Boston - Vucevic makes them a contender, and the 1st rounders are something Ainge craves for that AD trade.

Why for Magic - they'd see Favors as a decent replacement for Vucevic plus they get their PG in Rozier. Brown isnt a requirement for them in this trade because they already have Gordon, Isaac and Fournier. Dumping Mozgov would excite their relatively new front office.

Why for Utah - Brown seems to fit perfectly. We don't want Mozgov, but getting Brown and having to take Mozgov is the price of doing the business.

Orlando needs more.

I think it’s also more a case of Quin trusting crowder more to spread the floor, and finish games.

Jaylen Brown is no game changer. He won't be a star because he's too intelligent off the court. An NBA player has to be empty-headed to be able to deliver night in and night out.
Secondly you can't make a good deal with Danny Ainge. Reportedly some GMs don't even answer his calls because he always asks so much in return, is committed to "winning deals" more than anything else.

He doesn't get buckets

I'd take one of them :)

Also, add this to the "Where's Gordo?" tape

It seems like they are going to stay with Morris....BStevens has been going on and on about how great he has been.
Brown is going to be available at some point.

The Celtics just seem like a mess. So many personalities, injuries, "potential", guys playing same position, pressure to be good, etc. I got a feeling they will implode before they become actual contenders.

Damn... hate to see a players smarts get in the way. WTF does this mean??
Neither Morris twin will ever be considered by DL.
I remember reading that the Morris twins waited at some parking lot or something just to beat some dude up because he looked at them the wrong way or something. Either one would be toxic in the jazz locker room.
Brown is going to be available at some point.

Only when he Becomes a free agent, Ainge will undoubtedly ask a kings ransom for him.

I wouldn't be confusing Brad Stevens' comments on players with what Danny Ainge thinks of players. Ainge would trade Marcus Morris over Brown for sure right now if only because Morris' value is quite high for him with his great 3pt shooting season and just being a guy wiling to do the dirty work (think Crowder if Crowder was shooting 10 - 12% better from three than he is currently), while Brown's value is quite low compared to last season and his rookie season.

Ainge is all about winning deals and selling high on Marcus Morris is more in line with what he likes to do than selling low on Brown. Brown is also Ainge's Tatum insurance if he has to include Tatum in a deal for AD.
