IS RUDY GOBERT GIVING HIS "ALL" ON DEFENSE?

I'm very very happy with Gobert this season. He has been nothing short of dominant and the dude just keeps getting better! What is how ceiling anyway? Is there one? I mean even on offense I no longer cringe when he gets the ball 10 feet from the rim because he largely is doing the right things in those circumstances, such as taking it to the hole or making a solid pass. He is the best screen-assist player in the league, and that is a very underrated stat. Nothing but happy with Gobert and man are we lucky to have him.
 
Jazz have been the #1 or #2 defense in the past month, and Rudy's the anchor, so...

I get it though. He may be able to turn it up a notch in the playoffs.

He is currently ranking 6th in bpg, at 2.04 bpg. But the 3 guy directly in from of him, I believe he is a much more talented player and should be destroying them, not following the pack. Brook Lopez, JaVale McGee, and Hassan Whiteside. Rudy has the 2nd highest standing reach in the NBA, and should be averaging no less than 3 bpg, in my opinion. I know that the stat sheet doesn't always translate effort, but even when I watch him, he doesn't always throw off driving defenders shots, like we saw so much of last year.
I am just trying to wrap my head around what's going on with him this season. I think he hasn't even hit his ceiling yet, and is trying out what works and what doesn't. Am I the only one who has noticed this? I am not taking away from the great defender that he is, in any way. He just seems 1% off which is the difference from being #6 rated as opposed to being #1 rated defensively.

You know we changed the defensive scheme right? There were a couple interviews about it. Not much to wrap you're head around, he's got to rotate to the perimeter more often. Also he's a bigger part of our offensive scheme this year, I'm guessing he asked for it.. Hes gotta stay out of foul trouble so we can take better advantage of the freedom of movement rule adjustment. I'm surprised his bpm hasn't dropped even further.

Then I have to remind myself he isn't super-human. I don't have to remind myself that Mitchell isn't super human. I never had to remind myself with Stockton or Malone. For some reason I just expect more than is reasonable from Rudy. And I suspect that is what the OP is experiencing as well.

Lol. He got 25 rebounds the other night
 
Rudy isnt going 100% after blocks like he did earlier in his career. That is because he is staying down better which helps him be in position to rebound. His length bothers shots and his reputation so he doesnt have to send every shot into the rafter. But he is ending more possession.
 
When is the last time Rudy fouled out of a game? Every single team we play has the goal of fouling Rudy out. It doesn't happen. Lately, since the ref kerfuffle, it hasn't even been close.

He does a dope amount on d, the best in the league. Any more effort would result in him getting injured, which would be stupid imho

Why do you believe that #6 in blocks is not #6 in defensive rating? That is a very unique perspective
