Easy enough to waive Thabo. He's pretty useless this year.

I wouldnt feel bad if Derrick got traded. He got a generous overpay of a contract for use with trades, and is more talented than a 4th or 5th option. He could have a bigger role somewhere else, and still benefit from the overpay contract we gave him.Cue up "Sometimes, the best trade is no trade." 3, 2, 1....
Wash, rinse, repeat.
It may be legitimate. Making bad trades can absolutely kill a team, particularly a small market team that may have fewer avenues available to it to recover.
On the other hand, being overly risk averse, and making no trades, can make it hard for a team to upgrade, particularly a small market team that is not a free agent destination and is fated to remain in mid-late draft.
The upside is that I don't need to feel bad about trading away great dudes like Ricky and Derrick. So there's that.
Like when you swore Simmons would be good in Orlando and he was god awful?

No. It was just a first. Nothing more. Also, Favors would have been gone in that trade. Favors is so damn underrated.
Should use his expiring not dump it.Easy enough to waive Thabo. He's pretty useless this year.
They wanted Exum. Like I said he better ball out when he comes back.

- Just want to start by saying how stressful of a time of year this is. We're talking about real people, with real families, whose lives are put on hold and want to acknowledge the stress they experience as their names are in headlines, and want to recognize them for the professional manner in which they handle themselves.
- Look, it's my job to improve the team and I've always gotta be looking at every scenario that accommodates that. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes we don't feel we're getting equal value in return. There are hard decisions, but overall we really like our guys. You look at what we did last year ... [drop some sentiments], you look at how far we've come this year [more sentiments] and the progress we've made and the terrific impact [talk about Rudy and Donovan].
- When we look at the advanced stats, we find [insert some really positive stat that shows how good this group is].
That team sucks. No PG.Like when you swore Simmons would be good in Orlando and he was god awful?
That's the type of player who should be a backup center. He just said Gortat is being waived by the Clippers.

The scuttlebutt is that he has permanent nerve damage and will have to relearn to play basketball to accommodate his handicap. I'd like to think that a professional basketball team would know that and not make a deal if it were true. But then I look and see that the team involved is Orlando. . .I would have given up Allen a first and second for Fultz. I think Snyder could have fixed him.
The only way for Utah to become contenders is to trade the farm (sans rudy/donovan) + draft picks for a star, a la OKC with PG. Free agents AREN'T going to come here, yet there are so many on this board that believe we need financial flexibility for the summer lmao. To sign who? The Thabos, Udohs, and Niangs of the league? There are THIRTEEN other NBA teams that have similar / better cap space than we do going into the summer, yet this board is so disillusioned to think that we have a shot at top shelf FAs.... SMH
