The INSANELY early 2012 DRAFT

Who would you pick if the Jazz had the # 3 and # 12 in the 2012 draft? Take in account the current Jazz roster.
Who would you pick if the Jazz hadn't taken Kanter and Burks with #3 and #12?

It would be a very difficult choice? I like Gilchrist, Barnes, Rivers, Beal, Miller .. I really don't know who I would pick. Head hurts.. Draft overload.

Kabongo at 13? Is this draft really that stacked? He would have easily been top five this year.

Kabongo is exciting to watch and certainly has the ability to have a very good freshman season and find himself in the 6 to 7 range, imo. However, he has to tighten his dribble, do a better job reading and quickly responding to changing defenses, and not bone-headedly just run toward the rim, get in the air, and have no plan in the process.

He really just needs to learn how to play different speeds .. especially when to take his foot OFF the gas. I like him a lot, but don't see him cracking Top 10 in 2012.

Will most likely change my mind, but as of now I want Marshall.

I like Kendall Marshall quite a lot, but in the lottery? Hell no. I could see him creeping upwards of 16 - 17 .. but that will have more to do with running a STACKED team and everyone's stock being (potentially) a little over-inflated.

Well if it were #3 and #12, based on my BPA, weighted by need, I'd likely take Gilchrist (perfect Jazz player), and Kabongo. Though I'm guessing we'll likely be more in the #8 and #13 range (barring any ping-pong balls going awry). If that's the case, I'd likely go Adonis Thomas and Kabongo.

Wow, that's a difficult thing to answer. I love our picks, but how would I know who IS there if these guys weren't? Why do I consider Jazz needs if I believe in taking BPA? I'll give it a shot though. Knight and Hamilton.

I like all of those a ton, but would be cautious of Miller. Extreme talent, but I'd want to take this year, watch very closely and be sure he's not a headcase.

I think Barnes would be a wonderful addition to any team. He really came on later in the season.

Very true. He was being almost laughed at in the first half of the season, borderline panic for everyone that touted him so highly .. Then, h hit his stride and played like a real All-American. This year I'd like to see him play tougher, with a chip on his shoulder type of aggressor. He could easily go #1, but I think his floor is 3 or 4.

Agreed. I think he finally became comfortable out there. What I saw at the end of his season I loved. If we were able to snag him next year, then we would have an even brighter future than we are seeing right now. I am just happy we drafted BPA at 3 in Kanter this draft.

I think Barnes could definitely drop to the 6-10 range if the Freshman class really impresses.

Kabongo/Teague and Gilchrist. Everything I read about Gilchrist sounds amazing. We'll see how it all works out. Teague's passing looks pretty crisp. Kabongo looks like he over-handles but supposedly he can hit the three. We'll see.
