Lakers Are in Full Tank Mode

I'm going to disagree with this. Kuz has had a bit of a down year and he's been included (read: featured) in two trade packages that were all but laughed at. It might be possible to get him at a fair price. Not likely, but possible.
Those were for superstars, so...

I’m only trading Kuzma for a perennial All-Star or better. Why on earth would you trade ~5 more years of team control for a really good player, especially since he’ll be dirt-cheap for two more years AFTER this season?

He doesn't want to be on a small market team and the Jazz have nothing to trade him for.
How do you know that "he doesn't want to be on a small market team"? There is no way anyone can say he does or doesn't.

Kyle and Donovan have become really close, Kuzma went to the ESPYS to support Donovan and Kuzma even worked out with Mitchell IN the Lakers practice facility. Hell, Kuzma went to the UofU so he obviously knows SLC.

As for the Jazz having nothing to trade for him? I'ld happily give the Lakers 2 first rounders for him, the Lakers could use them to try to get Anthony Davis this offseason. As far as talent? The Lakers could use Joe Ingles, but Joe is a Jazz lifer, no deal.

I get the Utah connection at least though, and I absolutely don't think the Lakers get any closer to a deal for Davis with two Utah 1sts which both project to be late 1sts over Kuzma.

Well I would predict that the Lakers are going to trade some/all of their young talent this offseason to try to get another player to run with LeBron. Besides, Orlando is a mess, I wouldn't want to go to Orlando either.

I agree. I think at least one of Ingram, Lonzo and Kuzma are gone. It's abundantly obvious that those 3 do not work together well enough with or without LeBron.

If I was LA, I would be trying to trade Ingram for the best possible asset I could get. He seems like the type of iso guy who just doesn't get the best out of everybody else. And they aren't going to want to sacrifice all the cap space to re-sign him after next season.

By the time next season rolls around, I think LA trades Ingram, re-signs Bullock, signs either Kyrie or Butler, and hope that they can sign AD in 2020.

I don't disagree with your prediction I'm just saying the Jazz aren't really great trade partners for the Lakers unless they have some vested interest in Favors to make Favors + a pick work. DL won't do two 1sts and Favs for Kuzma.

I think Beal is a prime target for the Lakers via trade if they can't get AD

Good post. I agree about Kuzma and Beal.

Not really a good chance we can get Kuzma. Maybe he refuses to go to Washington and we become the 3rd team. With Wall being out most of next season too, maybe they like the idea of Ingram, picks and tanking.

Ingram’s health might give teams pause to trade for him.

I don’t think anyone wants Ball and the drama his dad brings.

Kuzma has real value.
