Seems like the Jazz are running around like a bunch of chickens with there heads cutt off with out Rubio out there directing traffic! Big guys not getting the ball at all!

This has been really frustrating with all thee PGs being out for extended periods. The Jazz don't have the flexibility to go get a David Stockton. A guy that could have helped when the injuries hit was Isiah Cousins but he wasn't a two way player and Naz wasn't ready. Another potential helper would have been Nate Wolters but he was jettisoned last year. Once Quinn and DL view someone as not a prospect, you are dead to them. Both Wolters and Cousins were 2nd round draft picks.

None of those guys would have gotten any time on the floor for the Jazz even with the injuries.

Cousins and Wolters are point guards. Wolters was a starter for the Bucks a couple of years ago. Cousins and Buddy Hield were the starting backcourt on an Oklahoma team that went to the Final Four.

When both Rubio and Exum are out, we lose our 3rd and 5th highest paid players for the team this year... for a total of ~25M
Jazz Salary ~114M
A team like Warriors is paying ~146M
Bucks paying ~132M

We don't necessarily need Rubio or Exum but considering what we are paying them compared to our total salary..It hurts to have them out.. (if pay is supposed to reflect contribution beyond Rookie salaries)

I'll be watching to see if Phoenix plays harder and faster than the Jazz tonight. When DM and Ingles bring the ball up their slow and every team is allowed to set their defenses and if the 3 ball is off Jazz struggle to score. Jazz slowdown offense will get them in the playoffs but they might be the 8th seed the way they've played this year.

Rubio is the key to the Jazz offense! Tonight 8 assists.....0 turnovers! He finds the big man and the open man ALL OF THE TIME! His shooting can be off, but his knowledge of the game and our offense and what it takes to make it click make up for the missed shots! Rubio stays in the game for any length of time....we win. He's out of the game for whatever reason....we lose, its as simple as that!

Well, fine! We will probably win by 20 and Favors and Gilbert will have 20 points each!
I should ban you for that Gilbert comment alone.
You are walking a fine line bro, you are "this" close to being tatted up by the mods.

Luckily the playoffs are typically played at slower pace

I want to see Rubio play well against good teams though. There's plenty of games this season where even if he's shooting poorly he's been a net positive for the team against middling to bad teams, but he's been for the most part pretty bad against the best teams in the league and that's ultimately the reason why the Jazz will probably move on from him in the offseason as those are the games where Mitchell and Gobert need him the most and he hasn't delivered this year.

This is why we need to renounce Rubio, trade Exum for a bag of chips, and also try to opt out of Favors and extend him (he’s too valuable to us imo) at a cheaper price per annum. That would free up almost 30M. I’d say go after a stud but I can’t imagine we ever get one.

Sign Satoransky on day one of FA. He’d be a big upgrade over Rubio at this point. Then use the rest of our money (we’d have a significant amount) to sign the best FA scorer/shooter we can. There’s a number of guys that route who’d be a monstrous upgrade over what Exum’s brought to the table. After that, I’d strongly consider re-signing Sef as I think he’s a versatile glue guy who brings great leadership and intangibles and seems like he genuinely likes being here.

Those additions along with a healthy Mitchell for the whole year (he wasn’t right the first two months) should result in a 55 win season or so imo.
