Not hating, just responding to LogGrad's comment which I thought was hilarious. Plus, the kid was amazing and the fans were clapping like they were watching the opera or something. I don't know why but eventually their indifference made me feel a bit bored, too. (I hate the implication of this next statement, but maybe the reason they invented laugh tracks was to keep people like me interested.) It was kind of like watching a video game where everybody knew in advance that the hero of the game couldn't miss so the excitement evaporated. Then he missed that one shot (despite what LogGrad said) and I perked up for a second. I never made it to the end of the video, though, because he started making everything again and I fell asleep. I'd love to watch this kid in an actual game to see how good he really is.

This is so true for highlight reels. How many times do you need to watch the 2 seconds of some huge college player dunking and hanging on the rim. Or a shooter, um, shooting. Yay, the 7 foot tall guy can dunk. Woo. And the shooter can shoot. Yay. They get old and boring. All you see are the final moments, the shot going in or the guy hanging on the rim. At least show us some other kinds of plays. After the 30th made 18-footer from pretty much the same spot on the court in the first 3 minutes of the highlight reel, well, we get it, the kid can shoot from 18 feet. Yawn.

I never made it 3:54 into the video. I got bored so I changed it to c-span and watched congressmen standing around for some more excitement.
 
He might never make it to the NBA.. Or be any good in college.... But for those of you who played or have watched HS hoops, how good is this kid? The quick crossover, body control, and nail those tough floaters in the lane is something you just don't see at that level. For most of us jazz fans, seeing a quick PG stop on a dime and nail a shot isn't anything. Stockton and Dwill did it for years. But I think many forget how few kids at the HS level have that ability. Usually, the ball is passed around until someone gets an open 3 pointer or layup. There isn't a shot clock usually, so you could go a possession draining 40+ seconds until the defense screws up.

Not with this kid. He was showing moves and making shots that you just don't see at the HS level. Cool find (even if he never ends up being an NBA player)

This guy became a youtube phenom, sparking interest of fans of all major college teams .. great vids. In the end, he accepted an offer to Oral Roberts .. and averaged 1.5 points in conference play .. (still a cool vid though)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLuMoxhKDdc
 
1.5 points per game....... that made me keep thinking for every layup he made in this video, chances are he did not score another basket in the same game. for every 3 he made, he would score no points in the next one....... not cool

This kid has bad form on his jumper. He almost flings it up there like Shawn Marion. Quick release but probably has very poor accuracy.
