Time to trade millsap

Dude, you always take playoffs over anything. I really believe we can be like a Memphis type team. A team with young talent and a couple veterans. Then once its the playoffs anything can happen. (Memphis beating Spurs)

GSW beat Dallas too couple of yrs ago but they couldnt do anythng else. Not necessarily championship but i wanna see a consistent contender. Like Detroit dominated east couple of years, why cant we dominate west? Currently i dont see many promising good teams except Oklahoma and Memphis(we dont know if they will resign Marc gasol he is very important for them)
The truth is Kobe, nowitzki getting old, Duncan is already more than old, we gotta make our move and try to dominate the west couple of years. We have the tools to do that.

Because the West is good. The East was absolute garbage when Detroit dominated it.

We are a pass-first assist machine away from being a serious threat. I guess it's time to start doing some research into next year's PG crop. Who is Mr. Vision? ... although, it would be nice to pick up an established PG ...

TT brings up a good point, but I think the Jazz give Millsap 20 min a game at SF. He has earned the right to audition for it.

If they do this. They are going to lose. A lot. Millsap may function as a part time SF but if he is asked to guard SF for a lot of minutes then we are in trouble. Might as well trade him if that is the role they want him to play.

i think East will be better by margin after 1-2 yrs. Miami, chicago, new jersey, new york, orlando (if howard stays)....
Best of the west teams are getting older n older.

82games shows Millsap's Opponent PER against 3's to be 20.4. He's 19.5 as a 4. Of course, 4 PER's are always high. So giving up 19.5 to a 4 could actually be respectable whereas giving up 20.4 to a 3 is bad. By contrast, AK was 12.2, CJ 14.3, Hayward 16.9.

On the offensive side, Paul is a 21 PER as a 4 which is obviously great. As a 3, he dropped to 15.3.

This is an extremely small sample, so there's plenty of room to say Paul will improve with minutes. But the numbers don't surprise me. He's just not suited to play long minutes at the 3.

Kanter, Jefferson and Favors are not only bigger than Millsap, 2/3 of them are slower and much worse at defending screen-roll.
Thank goodness for the lockout - hopefully that will cool everyone's jets on the trade threads.

Sap and Al are both bad at it. Kanter will probably be better than Sap, but we don't know yet for sure.

We do know that Sap isn't a good defender in this league. His rebounding is not what we hoped it would be.
He's a hard worker, nice all around offensive game (the only thing I see that he's truly improved since coming into the league), and provides hustle.

In other words he's replaceable.

West is a little overrated. I won't take OKC seriously as long as Durant is strictly a perimeter player. LA is dying. Memphis will suck once they lose Gasol, which they will. Dallas is not a dynasty in the making. This conference also just lost two huge stars in DWill and Amare. There is great talent in really bad franchises. The Clippers and Kings are not likely to be able to maximize what they have.

Nice to be able to agree with Sep for once.

just 7 - 10 minutes. That's all I ask. And, spend those minutes when the matchups are favorable... if they're not, then don't. There is too much one-way-or-the-other thinking about this issue on this board. (I'm not accusing you of this, billy).

u still follow JV will be much better than Kanter idea or you became softer in this case after the draft?

JV is in probably the worst possible scenario drafted by a horrible franchise. Still I think he's the better prospect. In 3-4 years he, Cousins and Howard will be the top 3 C's.
