Jazz intentionally foul another Suns player to prevent Devin Booker from scoring 60 points - CBSSpor

If the players are bugged about us cheering for Jimmer(a local hero) with a 30 point blowout, they can eat my ***. It was all in fun

Edit: That's big "if". I personally haven't seen or heard it.
I think annoyed would be a good word for it. That video of Jingles opting out of answering the question with that smirk on his face says it all. They didn't like it, and I don't blame them.
Yes it was all in good fun. It was too over the top for my liking... as a Jazz fan, BYU fan, and even a Jimmer fan.

For dudes touting good sportsmanship a week ago, I find it petty as ****. This pisses me off at these guys, not going to lie. I was cheering for Jimmer the person not against the Jazz and I'm a Ute fan. One second they are saying respect other players, the next they are pissed when we do.

Fair, I guess. I do prefer it to the incident with the fan banning. There was still cheering for the Jazz, it was a strange game to watch.

Respecting other players =/= cheering for them in-game

This kind of **** is most of the reason I had such a problem with Jimmer.

So cheering for Jimmer was not showing support and respect?
They are not one and the same. At no point has anyone suggested we should cheer as loud for the opposition as our own team. That’s obviously really weird at a minimum, and it obviously pissed the Jazz off which is more than enough for me.

Insecure little babies. This fan base is one of the most loyal fanbases I can think of and the guys have the audacity to call them out? We support the hell out of this team. Nobody was rooting against these babies, they were rooting for a guy they adore. I would understand if the game was in question but it wasn't.

I know many disagree but as I said I'm legitimately pissed at their response. I love this team but I find this absolutely childish.

I don't get why this is a big deal to people.

First of all, the Suns fouled the Jazz with about 24 seconds left in a game that was already over just to attempt to get Booker another shot. Which is ridiculous. So how is it "shameful" for the Jazz to return the favor and foul someone else to make sure Booker didn't get a look?

Second of all, what difference would it have made if Booker got one more point? The Suns lost by THIRTY THREE points. Thirty three. Was that one point going to help them win? No. Was that one point going to be a new career high for Booker? No. Is there some hidden rule that if a player on a s**** non-playoff team scores 60 they automatically make the playoffs? No. So what difference does it make?

Third, I haven't seen any players or coaches on either side making as big of a deal about it as the fans and media are. If it's not a big deal to them then why is it a big deal to fans?

I don't get it.

Then be a fan of another team. You obviously have a problem with who our team is. This is my favorite Jazz team, if you have such a problem with players playing with pride, go be a Suns fan, it’ll suit you better.

I have a problem with this particular incident not the team in general. I love this team too. I know it's petty and does nothing but I'm just going to take a few games off in my own protest. Morally I think the players are in the wrong here.

It was a bit much though imo. I have never seen anything like it.

I feel bad for jimmer though. He is a class act and a good guy and a hard worker. He didn't ask for all this drama and attention and now is getting hate from suns fans and jazz fans to no fault of his own.

LOL Maybe they need a little perspective? These Jazz players weren't even born when Danny Ainge and Celtics came to town. Imagine what it would feel like to have nearly half of the arena cheering for the Warriors every time they came into town?

It isn't jimmers fault though. I think what you mean is this is why you have a problem with byu fans being dumb.

If fans liking jimmer makes you hate the guy (not saying this is you personally btw) then that's a bit silly.

I do think that if the game was close there would have been more cheering for our own guys and less for jimmer. I would hope anyway

I think it's fair to say there were a ton of people at the game for the express purpose of rooting for Jimmer; and would not have been there otherwise.

And while I'm not crazy about the over-the-top cheering it didn't particularly piss me off either - gven his cult status in Utah, no one should be surprised.

Though it bears mentioning the ridiculous brick parade Jimmer was putting on made the entire situation more comical than anything else.

I don’t hate the guy. I have a problem with his existence as a basketball player in the broader context of being a fan of basketball in Utah.

I was and would otherwise be rooting for the guy. These ****ing Jimmer groupies though... Christ.

Don’t come back. Rooting for winners is obviously bad for you.
