Trade idea with the Hornets

The way I see it, no team needs a superstar at every position. What's of greater value to a team is a bunch of guys who can play MULTIPLE positions. We have 4 guys who can play SF from last year; AK, who's familiar with the Jazz system and can also play some PF, same with Millsap, same with Evans, who I think could develop into a better version of Ariza, and Miles, who can play some SG too. Oh, and supposedly even Burks can do some time at SF, although I'd rather they keep him as a combo SG/PG. We seem to spend a lot of time focused on the shortcomings of AK, Millsap, and Miles. I think Miles and Millsap, as well as Evans, ARE YOUNG AND WILL GROW; they all got upside. And I'd re-sign AK, but at way less $$$ AND reduced PT. Despite his shortcomings, he DOES still make some good plays for us and IMO has value to the Jazz at SF as well as PF.

Why would David West opt out?

New Orleans Hornets forward David West confirmed Monday morning he'll opt out of the final year of his contract with the team and test NBA free agency.

In a phone conversation, West said he's not ruling out re-signing with the Hornets, but said "I want to win and win big." West said his decision to walk away from $7.5 million in he last year of his contract was in his mind all along, even before tearing the ACL in his left knee on March 24.

He had reconstructive surgery on April 12 and has been rehabbing the knee twice daily at his off-season home Raleigh, N.C.

The Hornets could still offer West an extension before the current collective bargaining agreement expires at midnight on Thursday.

Trevor Ariza 11 ppg 39% FG
Paul Millsap 17 ppg 52% FG

You see, the higher numbers are better. This is not golf. Higher numbers mean the ball goes through the hoop more......
