Uta vs. Hou: Game 2 off/def strategy change up?

Jazz had their chance at Kemba. They chose Enes.

When you can't sign any free agents you have to draft better than jazz have.

Excellent point.

We’re a small market so signing the big time free agents isn’t going to happen.

That makes it all the important that you make smart free agent signings and excel in the draft. We haven’t done that.

Why didn’t we sign Seth Curry? We should’ve gotten Gallinari two summers ago instead of waiting on Hayward. What about Tobias Harris? Why didn’t we go after a harden stopper like Aminu? And we’ve been poor in the draft. Two scores and the rest have been major busts.

If we still made a move for Conley (would cost Favors), you throw the MLE at Jabari. Don’t give me this defense ****. “OMG defense will cost us in the playoffs.” Yeah, well, so will offense.

There was more fire last season, I don’t know if it was Mitchell being the “new big thing” or what, but Ingles looked better last year during the playoffs, Gobert, nearly everyone.

O’Neale was the exception tonight, attitude wise. Frustrating.

The pluckiness has worn off. I thought it had during the season.

Lindsey threw assetts in desperation, now there is a Tough road ahead for jazz.

Turns out defense doesn't win championships, nor has it ever won championships outside of huge anomalies a la the 1989/1990 and 2004 pistons... And those teams had great athletic wings that could create, unlike our $hit roster. IDK WHY the **** jazz management think that a defensive minded team is better suited in today's NBA. Trade Gobert while we can IMO. Favors is solid enough to start at center in today's league.

I just think back to the Kirilenko years when the Jazz could have traded him for legit players like Shawn Marion and always rejected it.
Makes you wonder how many trades the Jazz rejected that could have helped and even hurt them.
Part of me Hope's Houston crushes the Jazz the last 2 games to force some changes that are obvious necessary.

Rumors were that Mark Cuban offered to trade Dirk for AK and the jazz brass said no.

Houston is good. But, we seem really off. Not sure what's going on.
I was born and raised in Alabama as a Bama fan. For Alabama football, our titles have been built around our defense. It is behind everything. Its something you count on. When it is good, we contend.

For the Jazz recently, we pride ourselves on defense. Well, Harden and a suspect game plan has us reeling on defense. Our entire identity is getting destroyed. That is impacting our confidence and continuity on the other end.

We were a better team last year. I've been saying that ALL season. And ALL season people here have argued otherwise. They would tell me to stop being negative. It wasn't negativity. It was just honesty.

I'm wondering if people will finally admit it now.... no, probably not.

And now’s the time to bash the team. We played like trash and I only hope we make it a respectable series at least. There was no heart and they looked defeated from the get go.

If you look at the last 4 playoff games against these guys, 3/4 of them have been blowouts. 2/3 have been the worst playoff losses I’ve ever seen (game 3 last year, I was there at the game. I left once we fell behind by 40) and take your pick between Sunday and today. The only worse playoff loss I’ve ever seen was when the bulls destroyed us in game 4 of the Finals.

People underrated burks, Exum, and Jerebko, and overrate the *uck out of Korver.

I remember AK for Marion getting turned down. I was pissed because I knew Marion was more of a true SF. But more importantly, Marion made less money and AK had one more year at $18 million on his contract. That was back when $18 million represented like 23% of our entire team budget but he was the 4th most important player behind Deron, Booz and Okur.

AK should have definitely been traded. But we never did. Happens to us a lot.

Facing a much better team will do that to you. I don’t think the jazz lack passion. They lack talent.
