He's not dogging on Gobert. He's basically the one person on the roster where it's okay that he can't shoot.Gobert is worth every penny.
Soon you'll turn on Donovan.
You probably hated Malone too.

He’s expiring. It’s not like he has 3-4 years left, otherwise I’d agree with you. IMO it’s better to hold on to Favors and try the following years to get a max level scorer. He’s more valuable to the team then the overall numbers suggest the only thing I trust fully is my eyes, and my eyes tell me he’s better then the pure analytics suggests. You can’t just rely on the numbers alone. IMO of course. The main reason I’d keep him is for another chance at a max level player the following year, hell who knows maybe we find such a player in the draft. Crazier things have happened, but long shot, I know. Then we can keep Faves
It's not about numbers or analytics, his analytics are very good. The problem is he doesn't fit, the problem is we're paying him $18 million to play 23 minutes a game during the season, 20 minutes during the playoffs and never finish games.
And maybe the biggest issue... he fits for 12 -13 minutes... the rest of those 20-23 minutes are Rudy Favs minutes which make us worse.
It’s just time to move forward... bench bigs are like the easiest commodity to find. Find one and give him a multi year deal at 4-8M and you can get something of good quality... or go minimum if there are better uses of the space.Good point. Damn, it makes that $18 million look even worse.
I know this wont go over well. And I hate to say it, but we aren't winning with Gobert. I'm beginning to realize the the league doesn't care about defensive side of the ball. And he is constantly exploited by elite perimeter teams like Houston and Golden state. Hes soft against heavier centers and his stone like hands has been a huge liability at the end of games. If you want to build a legitimate team you have to think offense in the NBA.
1 through 5. Yes the defense wont be as elite, but defense hasn't won us anything. And we have been the top 2 the past two years. If I'm the GM I trade Gobert for shooters and a star. If we need fire power. And we all know we do. Than we need to focus on the offensive side of the ball. Harris wont move the needle much. Kemba will a bit. But not championships. Unfortunately we have to play the game the way it's meant to be played. If we dont, and keep riding this defensive mind set we will continue to be beaten by better offensive teams year in and year out.
