I completely agree with this. I thought the more Harris was on the court at the end of the season the better the team played. I think with a training camp camp and time to mesh with the team he becomes a good player for us.

Of course now it looks like there might not be a training camp and we might be starting right were we left of at the end of the year. Of course I liked were we left off the last 3 games so it might not be all that bad.
 
If the Jazz run a two-guard set, Harris could be a good fit. He just needs some of the pressure taken off of him.

The main problem last year both before and after the trade was that we just lost too much wing talent, so the offensive balance just fell apart. At the same time, Millsap starting at the PF was a let down on the boards. With Favors, and Hayward/Burks, plus Kanter coming off the bench, the Jazz should have enough talent to win games, if Corbin can do a good coaching job.

I'm surprised Hoopsworld has the Jazz rated ahead of the Nuggets, but I guess they're expecting the Nuggets to lose Nene.

Good post. Once again, a penetrating guard gets shackled by a non-performing perimeter. Who did we have that was keeping the floor spread? I feel you MUST have at least two 'true' 3pt threats in order to run effective offensive schemes .. especially considering our front line should be able to handle just about anyone one-on-one.

Why CAN'T Harris be our PG of the future? Didn't a 40 year old Jason Kidd just win a Championship? Are we expecting an All-Star PG to fall from the sky in the next couple years? I think Harris can evolve his game to the point where he is more of a facilitator than scorer. I think it will be beneficial to have a veteran floor general in 3 years with so many 20-25 year-olds on the team. Plus with play-makers Hayward and Burks potentially taking some of the assist load off of Harris, 5-6 per game would be just fine. I don't want a starting line-up of 23 year-olds. Just look at Minnesota's starting line-up to get a taste of that. Pretty solid at every position but they win 20 games every year.

I would have been persuaded by your very well written, articulate, and persuasive argument .. but you lacked the minimum number of excalamation points and bold lettering. *sigh, so close*

We can't get too far ahead of ourselves. It looks like our wing rotation will be Hayward/CJ/Bell/Burks but we might bring in a new free agent.

You're setting some very lofty things by comparing one good PG to a first-ballot HOFer. How many other 40 year old PGs that can't hit an open shot (Kidd can now, that's another important difference. Harris could learn [like Kidd did], but the odds say it doesn't happen) have won a championship as a starter?
