What's new

Williams get new agent, has made no firm promises about staying in New Jersey

I'll say it again: Even if Deron was willing to listen to an off from Utah, I'm pretty sure Jazz Brass want nothing to do with him.

Not only that, if the Favors/Kanter duo ends up being what we hope it will be, Utah's going to have to be prepared to commit some serious future salary to the front court. Forget maxing out a PG.

If we could somehow land Dwight Howard in exchange for Jefferson, Bell, & Memo. Then Dwill would take a serious look at coming back to the Jazz.
So in other words, NO CHANCE.

We have a young core that is going to be demanding a lot of money.

We already know what paying a PG the max would get us. And it's not what we want.

No chance it happens. But I would have him back in a heart beat. The money doesn't need to be there for several years for Favors/Hayward/Kanter(no guarantee and of them will demand huge money) and besides by then Jefferson/Okur/Harris contracts would all be up. Players like D-Will are rare, and if he somehow wanted to come back, you'd be crazy not to make it happen.

I'd take Dwill back.

So he can scream at Hayward?

So he can fire Ty Corbin?

So he can complain about not watching film or having practice done to his liking?

So he can threaten to leave after we make trades he doesn't like?

So he can pout on the court for not getting a call while his man goes coast to coast for a layup?

No thanks

How well did Brooks shoot the 3ball last season...?? How about we wait a full season and then form our opinion on Harris before we compare him to other PGs that we should go after.

He's played seven full seasons before. Not sure if you were aware. Most players don't do anything but largely plateau or decline from where he's at, especially since his game to this point has been largely predicated on his speed (which is the first thing you start losing with age).

So we can win

It's just not going to happen. Even if the Front Office wanted him back, Deron can go and play in 29 other cities where he's not considered the guy who ran Sloan out of town and he doesn't like living in Utah- so much so that he spent as little of time in Utah as possible while he was playing here.

Guys like Boler and Locke (love them or hate them, they had private access to Deron on almost daily basis) have even said that in private conversations, Deron pretty much made no bones about the fact that he was outta town ASAP.

It was a marrige that didn't work the first time and I don't see a 2nd time ever happening.
