Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

I was listening to Sam Vecenie's podcast and he and Cole Zwicker agreed that Paschall would be a great fit on the Jazz because he needs to play with a rim protector.

If I had to guess, I think the Jazz draft Paschall, Edwards, Keldon Johnson if he falls, or trade out.

"Needing to play with a rim protector" isn't exactly a great endorsement for a guy. Paschall is okay though.

I would have thought that Okpala would have been a huge temptation for the Jazz, unless his lack of shooting confidence is just a buzzkill.

I think the context was he is not a rim protector not that he’s a bad defender that needs someone to cover his ***.

I cant find the article but I read an article in the middle of the season that said paschall was called upon to guard the teams best player from pg to c. It said he had the most defensive versatility on the team.

It also explained that nova was using him out of position at the sf year and he is clearly a pf or even a small ball 5.

He is not an alpha but he is a good beta. He plays off of good players well.

At 23 drafting a player that is a solid rotational guy is a decent draft pick.

If the jazz figure he can come in day one and get 10 to 20 minutes a night that is solid. He might not have the ceiling of a bazely but he also doesnt have the basement of bazely

He's built like Amir Johnson and might play a similar role. Shoots better though.

Tony Jones thinks that a Conley trade is possible before the draft for those that don't think it's possible before free agency

Who do you guys like at pick 53? Wonder if we'll even draft anyone. I like Brian Bowen, Jaylen Nowell, Daquan Jeffries, and Jontay Porter if he falls.

Depends on who is available of course. But Jordan Poole, Justin Wright-Foreman or Zylan Cheatham would be solid selections imo.

Knowing the front office we'll probably move that pick. We don't have many roster spots open unless some moves take place. I suppose it's possible that we could trade the first in a deal that gives us an immediate roster upgrade and then keep the second tho. Who knows.

Alen Smailagic - Santa Cruz Warriors
(G-League) - If he lasts that long, he’d be another intriguing, upside prospect.

If we trade for Conley before seeing if Tobias, Russell or others come our way, that is simply idiotic.

They probably will know before the draft if they have a chance with the big time FAs. That's not to say that they will know if they will get one, but they will know if they have no chance with them.

You are probably right about most of them, but all of them?

If we win the bidding war for Conley, we waste too many assets. To beat Indy or Boston, we gotta sacrifice 2 1st round picks because our one pick is the worst one. No way that's worth it.

Not a huge Jones fan. He’s too pro Jazz and rationalizes everything they do, despite logic and facts.

So Kyrie going to Nets. I think Harris too. I also think they keep DLo.

And Celts and Pacers have way more to offer the Grizz than us for Conley.

We’re screwed.

Don't the Nets have to get rid of Dinwiddie in this scenario? Not much chance we'll land him either, but it keeps some hope alive.
I really don't want to go into another season only hoping Exum will stay healthy and break out and Favors miraculously becomes a 40% 3pt shooter (though that would solve most of our problems). Best case scenario: Korver retires and magically transfers his shooting skills to Exum and Favs.
