Not sure if there's a thread on here for this or if there's ever been one in recent memory.

But I was curious who saw the season premiere and their thoughts? I liked it. I personally feel the show jumped the shark long ago and has been very inconsistent for years. Hell, Leon saved it in many ways I thought. But I was pleased with tonight's episode.

I don't think the show has jumped the shark at all - I think some of his ideas were silly or just plain bad (e.g. when Larry thought he was adopted and his real parents were a couple of WASPs from Arizona). but overall it is the most consistently funny show on television. Last season had some of best episodes ever (and I'm not even a Seinfeld fan). The final joke last night with the tampon in the nose kind of fell flat; but overall the show was great.

Having said that, am I the only one who thinks that Bob "Super Dave" Einstein has to be one of the most disturbing looking people on television? Between the hairpiece and the extensive plastic surgery and the stoned face expressions he looks like one of those poor folks that survived a fire with burns over 99% of their body.

Best comedy on tv? No way. I'm not sure what is but it's very flawed. I love the show. Don't get me wrong. But it's not what it was. The first couple seasons Larry was just Larry. That's what was great. Then he became this caricature of himself, trying way too hard in many scenes or with absurd concepts.

I watched about half a season before finally catching on that falling asleep in the middle or involuntary channel surfing during the show indicated I found it incredibly boring and unfunny. I agree with KSEHK that they just tried too hard. All of the "comedy" was so obviously scripted, instead of arising from the comedy of the characters and situation, that I kept expecting someone to whisper "line" to someone off-camera.
