I'm pretty sure that listing Thurl Bailey over Mark Eaton at Center qualifies you to be shot.

Not only that, whats the deal with Maravich not being considered the best SG in Jazz history? I realize that you're not the only one who's done that in this thread and I understand the Horny/Griffith love, but NO WAY were they even close to better players than Pistol Pete.

I still need to see somebody who put Horny or Griffith ahead of Pistol Pete attempt to explain themselves. I just can't see anybody actually thinking that either of those 2 guys are even close to being a better player than Maravich.

Horny would be our 3 point specialist. You can't just start a team full of people that need the ball all the time. Pistol Pete will be an amazing 6th man, and get to come in and do his thang.

You're right about Pete, but shot for Thurl over Eaton? It's not like we're talking about Jabbar or something here. I should have started Al at the 5 he has at least averaged a double double.

While Eaton was no Jabbar, Thurl was never a "true" Center, so how he could land ahead of Eaton on the list is beyond me. Bailey was versatile and could give you good minutes at all 3 frontcourt positions, but if you're going to make a list of the "best Jazz roster of all-time", Bailey is not the #1 option at Center.

Frizzdude, the exact same thinking can be applied to your Horny argument. Simply put: He is not the best SG in Jazz history. Now if the thread were titled "Put Together the most cohesive Jazz roster of all-time", then you'd have a valid point.

With Dantley and Malone, I don't see Maravich working in the starting lineup. I'm starting Horny and bringing Pistol off the bench for firepower.

Also, Thurl Bailey was not a center. Not even close. I think Sloan played him at center in his return in '99, but he was awful. He was not even a power forward.

For me, I'm listing the game depth chart. I know that Pistol was a better player than Horny. Then again, I didn't follow the directions and put two more active Jazz players on the team.

Best* 12-man "game" rotation roster:
C- Eaton, Favors
PF - Malone, Boozer
SF - AK, Hayward
SG - Horny, Pistol Pete
PG - Stockton, D-Will
Bench Warmers: Memo, Green

Dantley and Jefferson wouldn't make my "Best rotation" team because even though they were/are great scorers, they tend to stall the offense when they get the ball.

We still haven't seen Kanter or Burks in an NBA game, so I left them off my lists.
