2020 Presidential election

No, it really doesn’t. This ignores the history of this man and the history of the things he’s said. It is not the same as any other president we have had.

He is a complete outlier, extreme outlier, in this sense.

See my follow up post. Also, I don't disagree with you in that he is unlike any other president we have experienced as a nation. I just don't view it as a bad thing all the way around as some of you guys and gals do. I do wish he would be more calculated in some of his messaging though as it gets misconstrued as overly aggressive and then twisted into phobia this, racist that hyperbole.

He did refer to American hating congresswomen which is pretty accurate.

But, this is absurd. You are saying that because someone criticizes an aspect of American society or governance, that therefore they hate America. As an example, when AOC criticized the southern border detention centers, was it because she hated America, or because she felt we were better then this, which would suggest she cared about our country enough to speak up on what she considered a failing on the part of the government?

Consider the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's. Were people, both black and white, who marched in solidarity against "water fountains for blacks and whites", "blacks sit at the back of the bus", "segregation in schooling", doing so because they hated their country, or doing so because they wanted equal rights for all Americans, regardless of the color of their skin? Did they hate their country, or did they want to correct injustices committed by their country, because they cared about their country and knew we were, and should, be better then this?

You are adopting the position that if one disagrees with Trump, one hates America. Which is the position Trump himself takes, and guys like Miller, when they respond to any criticism with some version of "America, love it or leave it".

Fact is, you don't support anything related to the president ...

What absolute, total rubbish. Just today, I read that Trump said the reason he doesn't want to flatten Afghanistan is that it would kill a few million people, and he doesn't think that's right. I fully support his stance there. I support the First Step Act. There are other measures he has undertaken that I support.

That doesn't change that he is overall a terrible President and seems to be an egocentric racist.

No, I am not. Just as you believe Trump is terrible, I believe certain members of Congress hate the country that they are supposed to be working for.

Awesome! Glad to hear that you can look at some of his policies objectively.

What makes you think I can't look at all of his policies and behavior objectively?

Nothing at all, simply glad that you're not just a crazed leftist who is against anything and everything that an opposition party president puts up. It's refreshing.

If only we had a record of trump doubling and tripling down on his words with the attached names of these congresswomen so we could know of a surety that these women were indeed the women he was referring to. Some sort of an electronic record. You know? They don’t have to be very long, just 280 characters really.

Wouldn’t that be nice if we had an electronic record of trump’s words? If only someone would invent such a thing...

One of the major dangers of Trump’s authoritarianism is people associating criticism of trump and his policies as attacks on America. That’s absurd and very dangerous.
