I'm on the job hunt and just made one. How useful has this been for you folks that are techno-savvy?

I have had job offers through linkedin. I have helped people find jobs on linked in through multi-level connections. I have about 300 contacts right now. It is becoming a very successful tool for business connections in many areas.

I have a few friends who are independent contractors & small business owners (CPAs, graphic designers, writers/PR types, various types of consultants) who have found clients and made useful connections using it.

I haven't been very active on it, but I can see how it can be useful.
Besides the requests to add someone, the only messages I've received are asking if I know someone that would be a good fit for a certain type of position. I like that about LinkedIn, that's pretty useful.

If they ever get a LinkedIn Mafia Wars I will delete my account though.

All I know about Linkedin is that isn't worth the 10 billion dollars the stock market says it is. I know people that have used it successfully though, so good on you for getting started on there. It will help.
