This is my favorite player mix ever. From the editing, to the music, to the audio clips, it's such a well constructed tribute. It gives goosebumps.

This kind of thing takes me back. For me the late 80’s and early 90’s is what made me fall in love with basketball. I’m not a fan of teams throwing up 30-50 threes a game. I miss the post up game, inside out. I miss Sloan’s offense. I miss the physical nature of the game, I miss the rivalries, the competitive nature of the game. Back then stars didn’t want to join forces, they wanted to destroy each other and be thought of as the best in that way. That was the golden age of basketball IMO, and I probably will be stuck in that era forever. I would love to do an all 90’s draft or something like that.

Wow!! That really turned into a rant, but needed to be said.

Yeah I like spy’s team. He has two absolute studs. Game changers. Log only has one in Kobe. Anthony Davis would be the guy he could say is his second but there’s no way I’d want to depend on The Tin Man.

As much as I love Chauncey and what he brings I also like spy’s intangibles and chemistry more. Kobe and Davis are negative in that category imo.

Benches are about equal.
Never saw Davis as a guy that could elevate a team, somehow I can see this leading Kobe and Davis hating each other. I do think Billups is the absolute perfect pg to play next to Kobe though. A great shooter that doesn’t take the ball out of Kobe’s hands.

I didn't get to watch the 80s (and remember only a little of the 90s era), but I know what you mean.

Man, I had to go Spy bc I think his star players are better, and that's what this comes down to.

Both are really good teams.

Funny enough, Spy's team is built against Log's quite well. Dumars on Kobe is ideal, Iggy on English is phenomenal. Larry and AD would be a great battle, but Larry has more competitive drive is just better. Magic is the tipping point though. Great team around Magic. Would be a lot of fun to watch.

Damn you missed out. I regret not getting to see the beginning of the Bird Magic rivalry, and even in the late 80’s I didn’t have the knowledge I do now of the game, as I was just a little kid, I probably would’ve appreciated it even more. Which is why I love this draft so much, gives me a chance to reminisce throw watching docs and highlight vids. Really enjoyed the vids on Pistol, which was a little before my time. He had some bad luck or he would be thought of as an even better player. His prime was cut way too short due to a knee injury, and yet he still made HOF.

Yeah, Dumars/Iggy is a great defensive pair on the wings.

People also forget how good of a defender Bird was; he made All-Defense three years in a row, and could switch onto both bigs and wings.
