What's new

* NEW * 2019 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

I've sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Shine your bright lights elsewhere.

I'd like to suggest that, after the draft, we have a few non-participants do a seeding of the teams, 1-16, and based the matchups on this seeding. (1 v 16, 2 v 15, etc) Last time we had the three best teams matched up in the first two rounds, in my opinion. We don't need to tell people what the seeding are to avoid that influencing the voting. You will get some blowouts early but much better matchups in the semifinals and finals. The approximate tiers are not that difficult to see.

Second idea is to better balance the talent, we set the draft order as follows:

round 1: 1-16
round 2: 16-1
round 3: 16-1
round 4: 1-16
round 5: 16-1
then normal from there on out

The way it is now, the player with the first pick also gets 3 of the top 33 picks. There are 5-10 eliterplayers who are going to have an edge, let's try to give the people picking in the bottom half of the first round a better shot and I think there will be better parity

You say not to tell the voters the seeding (I assume you mean draft order). What is to prevent them from, you know, going to the thread and looking it up?

The draft order would be public, the playoff seeding would be secret. You would just post the brackets and not who was the 1 seed and who is the 16 seed.

The reason to keep the seeding secret is to avoid influencing the vote.

Fwiw I had no idea who was what seed in this one and wouldn't care if I did know.

When you say Normal from there on out, you mean continue snaking from there?

Oh, so a third round reversal draft, as explained here: https://www.fantasyindex.com/2014/07/16/fantasy-news/third-round-reversal-drafts
