Want to take some courses

I have no job or school now and really want to take some group classes (languages, cooking, wine, whatever) so I can stay busy/meet new people and stuff. I know there are community classes through the SLC school district but I think they only happen in the spring. Any ideas where I can do this during the rest of the year?

Community classes will happen all year, most like.

In particular, community colleges often offer courses on cooking, dancing, and similar semi-social things.

Continuing ed at the U?

Good question, I'll ask around. I'm also interested in other people's responses.

do you folks have "Meet-Up" around you? It's sort of like a Craigslist for interests, and groups meet in public places.

also, in addition to local community colleges, check with the local park district - - they often offer lots of various activities for all ages, not just the under 14 age group.
