Line-ups/Rotations You'd Like to See

I say again, Conley is missing from most of these posts lineups. And he was our big off season acquisition. That's not good.
Simply put, Conley playing like we expected him to play solves many, if not most, or all of our issues.

In the game that he balled out (the first Kings game iirc) we were up by like 35 for most of the game and won by like 20 plus (iirc)

Exum
Ingles
Bojan
Royce
Gobert
These 5 seem the least selfish to me. I just want to see more ball movement and less one on one. Rudy needs more touches and I think both Exum and Ingles could feed him

Kind of feel like Mitchell has been slipping back to his chucking ways. Earlier in the season, his decision making and shot selection was so much better. Not happy lately with so much one on one and so little ball movement. Green and Mudiay are both selfish players. Niang and Bradley are end of the bench guys.

His absence may have something to do with the fact that our starting group isn’t our big problem. People may be scratching out solutions to our miserable bench production, looking for some new combination with this players.

I think Conley would do better being the guy subbed out and back in with the bench instead of Mitchell. Mudiay has been playing well, but if it's about getting Conley going better, then let him command the second unit (still starting) like he did with a Memphis lottery team last year. We can parse down our rotation and find those minutes for Exum.

[Mudiay isn't losing minutes to Exum as much as to Conley, we'll just give Exum a chance to see what he can do.]

I wish Conley could play Mudiay's role (with more minutes of course). Obviously you can't have him coming off the bench. But being out there with some lesser players so he doesn't have to feel bad about not sharing the ball so much. He could just do his thing.

And we all know Locke throws a lot of **** at the wall. But his reasoning for why Conley and Gobert are kind of a weird fit does track. Him on the court with a less typical 5 would be interesting.

Edit: @infection beat me. Totally agree.

Mudiay doesn’t run the offense. He scores one on one, but he doesn’t do anything to get his team mates open shots. And his turnovers seem high to me. To me, that’s a point guard’s primary job, run the offense and get your team mates good looks. Things are wide open for Exum to earn some minutes if he can run the offense and get his team mates some good looks. Hell, minutes are there for anybody to run the offense and create for others.

I’d like to see Joe start and Royce go to the bench. And I want to see the Joe that plays for Australia. He was so much more aggressive and confident for them. An absolute wizard for seeing the court and finding the open man.

I feel ya but I mean the bench is the bench. We have 4 stars on this team imo. If they do what they are expected then we are gonna win almost every time regardless of what Bradley, green, mudiay, Exum, Royce, Ingles etc do. I mean those guys playing well is great and gives the stars room to play subpar. But if you tell me that Rudy will have 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks on 70% field goals. Donovan will have 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists on 45% shooting. Conley will have 17 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds on 44% shooting. And bogey have 20 points 6 rebounds, and 2 assists on 45% shooting. If I were to know those things would happen tonight then I would put all teh money on the jazz to win the game regardless of what any of the other guys do.

We need our stars to play like stars more than anything else.

Rubio, Mitchell, Ingles, Bojan, Gobert.

With Mudiay, Alec Burks, Crowder, Bazley and Nerlens Noel as the second unit.

I would like to see Ex play w/o Mudiay. I like them both as players I just don't see their styles mixing that well to play together. I would like to see exum come in for Mike and let him play with the main guys for a few minutes in the 1st Q. The D would stay top notch and he would have shooting around him. I think a Ingles / Ex pick and roll would be pretty sweet. But that would only work if the opposing team has to stick to all the other guys. So no none shooters such as Mudiay on the floor.

I don't get the idea that people want to push Joe to the starting unit... He will be more reluctant to shoot the damn ball if he thinks there are better weapons on the court. The second unit needs passing and creation... Royce ain't really gonna do that. The starting unit aint the problem at all... the bench is and putting an inferior player with that unit won't do much.

The bench unit has a few issues... lack of athleticism if you put Niang or Bradley in and lack of passing if Green and Mudiay are in... I stand by my thinking that one aggressive bench gunner is fine, but when you have two guys like Green and Mudiay that have blinders on its an issue. Then we add in Exum who can't shoot... so you have 2 non-shooters on the wing, 2 guys that aren't passers. We need to separate Green and Mudiay imo… I don't know how you do it though... they both do good things from time to time but they both stop the ball so much that the offense has no flow. Passing and ball hogging are contagious. Anyone that has played knows that if you are out there with guys that aren't moving the ball it is tough to make the right play because you know it ain't coming back to you... I think some of the parts of the bench are fine but together that **** doesn't fit.
