Stupid Pet Peeves

People who leave their cars running when they aren't going anywhere.
Also people who start their cars up minutes before they are going anywhere so it will be warm when they get in. Wear a ****ing coat and a beanie got God's sake. The air is almost unbreathable. No need to make it worse so you don't have to be a chilly for 5 minutes.

Hard on your vehicle if you don't let it warm up before you start going somewhere in the winter cold.

Try it sometime when it's cold. The difference in how your vehicle sounds and moves after letting it warm up a bit vs just going right away.

Not Really true.

There's a difference between driving and pushing the engine. All modern cars can drive just fine in cold weather without warming them up, just so long as you're not racing them.

I live in Utah. The people I see leaving their cars running live in Utah. Utah air sucks. I don't ever warm up my truck. My truck runs just fine.

Also, some of the people I'm talking about are people that go to the grocery store (vehicle is already warmed up at this point) and drop someone off and then go park and leave their car running while they wait in the car. It's about staying comfortably warm in this instance, not about vehicle performance.
Same thing happens at work. I get to work and see people from the night shift starting their vehicles when I'm arriving at work. These people won't be leaving for another 15-20 minutes. Their vehicles don't need 15-20 to warm up for better performance. These people just want their vehicle to be nice and warm when they get in.

To be clear, it is not harmful for any modern car to be turned on and then immediately driven in anything from 32f to -10f (and probably lower). Your car is perfectly fine to fire up and drive even in super low temps.
