Hey we got a first for a guy we picked up on the waiver wires... Make it top 25 protected... hell they might get it... pick protections sometimes don't come out until after the press conference.
 
If he is 80% of the player his numbers suggest he's better than a Jerami Grant type of guy or at least in that tier/mold.

The background checks would need to come out alright though... that's why he was undrafted.
 
Honestly, I'd rather trade for him in what could be a fluke season on a cheap contract than spend real money on him if it is a fluke anyway (if it was a one or the other proposition). His all-over-the place history gives me pause in the longterm but I think he's good to go this year.

Getting him in the fold would give us a chance to see what his weird history is all about and if he's worth investing in further.
 
Sounds like he’d be tough to get as if they see real value in him and that he’s a fan fave.
 
Lets say they see too much value in him.

I think Morris for Niang and NWG works. Plus a restricted 1st of course.
 
Unless Casey gets fired I don't think this is possible. He has been talking about him as a player they need to develop and Detroit is getting closer to that inevitable tanking process.

Ehh. I'd hold off on even the sleight-of-hand stuff for Markieff. Too many red flags. I would stick to a second or two, tops.

Clearly this. Dumb proposal.

I supported picking Wood off the trash heap a couple years ago. Dude oozes smooth athleticism for his size.

All things being equal, I think Baynes is clearly a better win-now move (which is what we’re trying to do), but if he’s ungettable, then Wood should be on a short list.

Probably true... I think they would almost have to trade Drummond or let him walk though if they wanted to commit financially to Wood.

You greedy... I'm cool with it.

None of these guys may be gettable, but we turned a toxic contract and some decent but future looking seconds into next gen Lou Will on an expiring contract.
 
Looked really solid last night.

Not sure why I always think this, but the quotes about him needing to mature make me think he’d be a good fit.

Dudes like Joe and Conley, along with Donovan and Rudy, seem to form a pretty grounded culture.

Which they will need to if they do tank and I don't Detroit has enough assets to trade for a guy that would push them to playoffs or the will to do that. They truly need to reset.
