Jazz @ Pelicans 1/16/20 6 PM MT Going For 11 Straight Wins Game Thread

Anyway, this was a great game and I’m not really upset about the loss. Honestly the most upsetting thing is our big situation beyond Gobert. Which is actually pretty upsetting.

We need to play better perimeter defense. That's what we need. We can't ask Bradley to do what Rudy does. And we can't ask Rudy to do what Rudy does on almost EVERY possession. We have to start staying in front of the offensive player on a drive on occasion.

And you bet your *** I swap Bradley for Willy Hernangomez straight across.
Yeah there were a couple plays tonight that Willy would have finished that TB did not...I think TB is a better defender though.

No one can be mad about this loss. We definitley need a better backup 5. Bradley was unfortunately embarrassing tonight

I feel like we didn't even play well offensively tonight. We were very sloppy for large stretches. And we still put up 122 in regulation, on the road, against a team that was playing hard on defense. Thats impressive. Our offensive firepower continues to shine. The transformation in our offense from the start of season to now is insane.

NO - 83 mins/ 47 pts
with clarkson we are still sitting in the bottom of the league in bench scoring... playing our starters heavy minutes right now is really gonna hurt us comes playoffs

I think they just had a little more juice then us ... give them credit , Pelicans are a good team that pushed us hard ..

Jazz have used up some gas in the past few games , after we beat the Nets , their next game they had a drop off so you could see what we took out of them.

Im not so hung up on blaming Bradley , we made some bad choices down the stretch ..

My concern still is the PF position ... we still need a back up , I don’t mind Royce starting, he gives his all , but Niang worries me a lot ... come playoff time , when Royce struggles to guard the bigger player , we need someone to step in and help ...

I just watched the condensed game. It looked like another W until they run out of energy. Bojan and Ingles couldn't grab an easy defensive rebound with about 1:30 left and NOP got the ball and made an instant three to cut the lead from 4 to 1.

DM's shots were smart. It wasn't hero ball at all and he was more energetic than other scorers. He constantly took advantage of his defenders particularly off the dribble. Only blatantly bad shot was the most crucial one, an 18 foot jumper with 10.5 seconds left in regulation, 6 seconds on the shot clock. Donovan makes this mistake frequently, he should manage the clock better. How about a long rainbow three about 5 seconds later? I mean even if it hadn't gone in NOP'd have had two or three seconds left to live.

Any time the heat is turned up just a slight notch homeboy melts... I’ll never understand why they picked up his option.

Sunk cost....this FO is known for it. When you pick diamonds out the rough that others aren't seeing (Mitchell, Gobert and to a lesser extent Royce) you start to believe you can work miracles.
