I think it was the Back to Back podcast... which is usually pretty mediocre... the whole narrative that all you have to do is get Rudy on the perimeter and he can't do anything is straight trash... they also mention that he struggle with bigs like Towns that can stretch the floor... He has given it to Town and Jokic on the regular.

Amen. Towns can be terrifying though! I freaking hate it when that matchup comes. That fool chucks the ball up from 5 beyond the arc like he's throwing stones in the ocean and when he is on, NOBODY can guard it. It has very little to do with Rudy's perimeter defense. Just a tough shot to contest no matter who you are.

My concern still is the PF position ... we still need a back up , I don’t mind Royce starting, he gives his all , but Niang worries me a lot ... come playoff time , when Royce struggles to guard the bigger player , we need someone to step in and help ...

I do think that this will be a little better when Mike gets back because I think that Mike and Joe will start and we'll have Royce coming off the bench which will reduce the minutes/role of Niang a little bit so we can use him in a more ideal role of specialist sniper.

Donovan was great but he needs to stop swapping his shirt. He couldn't find a taker and Ingram ripped his heart out.

DM's shots were smart. It wasn't hero ball at all and he was more energetic than other scorers. He constantly took advantage of his defenders particularly off the dribble. Only blatantly bad shot was the most crucial one, an 18 foot jumper with 10.5 seconds left in regulation, 6 seconds on the shot clock. Donovan makes this mistake frequently, he should manage the clock better. How about a long rainbow three about 5 seconds later? I mean even if it hadn't gone in NOP'd have had two or three seconds left to live.

These end of half / game situations is where Stockton excelled. You've got to know the clock and the score, and know what gives you the best chance of winning. If you are up and you can hold for the last shot, do it.

I didn't see the game, but (1) I'm guessing that Quinn stuck with his starters in OT even though they were gassed, and (2) stats show that Mitchell took nearly every shot in OT and missed most of them, even though he was surrounded by 3 guys that shoot over 40% from 3. . Did Oneale and Ingles ever even touch the ball in OT? Maybe they knew they were too tired and didn't want to shoot it. Clarkson should have been in there then. I can almost guarantee he would have scored more than zero points, assuming he ever touched the ball.

How many did Donovan miss? It seems like it had to be 5 or 6. Don't get me wrong, he was outstanding in regulation and probably the only reason we even had a chance to win the game. His overtime performance was rough though.

I'm sorry but I just gotta vent this 0.2 second foul situation one more time because social media on the topic is driving me nuts.

I hate the take that the refs "can't call that in that situation". I'm of the opinion that calls should not be different because of situation. A foul is a foul. Doesn't matter how much time is on the clock.

Fans want consistency from officials, correct? If we do then we can't be screaming for them to officiate the end of games differently than the rest of the game. If that same foul happens in the first quarter and is called nobody b****** because it was a BLATANT foul. That's why complaining about it with 0.2 seconds left is asinine.

Blame Gentry, not the refs. Literally all he had to do was have Hayes and Favors stand in front of Rudy, in between Rudy and the ball and jump straight up with their hands up when they alley oop was thrown. It's 0.2 seconds, it's a tough pass, one finger on the ball and it's over. They didn't have to touch Rudy much less mug him.

He was bringing the ball all the way down which ends up in several iso ball. He was great in the 4th but it took a toll later on. favors knew the play obviously, stole one from Ingles and blocked Bradley. JC could have been useful in these situations because he's unpredictable and can give other guys some rest.

There were consecutive plays when Joe let his guy pass, didn't even touch him and scored. The next play he bodied up ingram and stole the ball lol.

But it's just 1 game for us and revenge game for NO. They deserve it.
