We need a backup Center

I would say that Bradley is an average back up center, the problem is that both LA teams have arguably the best back-up centers in the league. Therefore, if you can make a meaningful upgrade you do.

One ray of hope is that Bradley is basically a rookie this year, and rookies get better during the year. You can see that he is already much better now on both sides of the ball than he was when Davis first went out. I was in the camp of Bradley being a bust, but I am happy to be wrong. He is clearly an NBA player, and is our future back up center (unless we can get some value for him in a trade).

A premier player will also demand more minutes. We need someone who is happy with spot minutes and occasionally more minutes when defending players like AD. Who can that be that the Jazz can get.

I don't think Bradley is the main problem. Yea he fouls too much but many of his fouls are rookie fouls. He gets one or two a game. He does get lost some times on defense but come on the guy is 21 and just seeing his first action in the NBA. I think in a year or two he can be a very serviceable backup.

In a year or two, he will actually be skilled enough to be a low end starter. Petty good value for where he was drafted.

I agree with that, Bradley has been surprising so far in his minutes. I never really thought of him as a bust as late firsts rarely stick around in the league. That said, he's proving himself and I'm happy for that. We still need a depth at the 4/5, but Bradley helps a ton spelling Gobert. I hope he keeps it up.

We cannot treat the backup 5 (or 4, for that matter) like we just need some minimal contribution to not lose us games. This team is trying to be THE BEST in the entire world. It’s hard to be THE BEST if your answer for a rotation player is to just pray they don’t melt when the heat gets turned up.

Bradley has been good, but he has a long way to go to put my concerns at ease, things that are largely out of his control: his agility on defense and his abject lack of big-game experience. We can’t have a pant-*****er out there on the biggest stage.

The thing is... if he had an athletic 4 next to him he might be able to survive and he gives us some things with rebounding that are good. I think Niang with TB magnifies both of their issues... Niang can't stay in front of people and TB may not be the best rim protector. They both provide something that is pretty useful though... just not an ideal pairing. I think they partly remedied the issue by staggering Niang and Royce's minutes differently.

If I had to pick a good backup center or a big wing 3/4 type I'm not sure what the biggest need would be. True centers slowly get less and less minutes as the playoffs go on. I kind of wish we were working Morgan and Brantley in as bigs to see what they can do and get some reps... those are the type of bigs that get more run in the playoffs because they can rebound and guard guys on the perimeter.

If we wanted Vonleh we could have him straight up for Mudiay I think.

He might be helpful as a backup 5 against the clips against Montrez and switching out on Lou... Lakers he might be able to help with AD (no one can help all that much). He might be a better fit with Niang in the second unit... I just think we need one more defensive minded big wing... would be ideal if they could shoot, but that is like the hardest thing to find in the NBA.

I think in the playoffs one or both of Niang Bradley may need to be switched out of the rotation... we have Royce and Ingles to help with wing defense, but it'd be great to have one more wing defender.

We just need a rental for this season in an ideal world. I don't think that its an impossibility for us to win it all this season with what we have right now. But it's one of those things where you want to maximize your opportunity in whatever way possible. If we have a chance to get an upgrade over Tony for this season then we kinda have too. Then Tony would be waiting in the wings to grab that spot next year. I think one more offseason and he's gonna be much better than we've seen this season.

Bradley is a liability come playoff time and a huge gamble when given minutes in the post season, our time is now we need a strong back up 5 hope we can get an upgrade
