This will be tricky in the offseason unless it magically turns around. The contract is big and if the best option is to just keep him and play him off the bench then you do it. It's difficult to move so if all that's out there is a swap for Al Horford or Kevin Love (in some 3 team scenario). Then its a no. Just getting it off the books doesn't create $34M in space... we'd have about $22M if we can lock JC up starting at $10M (so 4/$44M). You'd also have to do it early in FA so there is someone left to sign.

So its a limited market, big contract, and what we get may be uglier than what we trade. Its part of the reason we shouldn't have spent as much as we did on him because there couldn't have been a ton of teams bidding on him.

So the trade Conley idea has to come with a qualifier... it depends on what you can get for him. If JC walks all of a sudden Mike of the bench would be somewhat of a necessity... so there are some other factors here.

I think it was HH but I forget who said today that we have a lot of really good pieces that fit.

I’m not so sure. Bogey is a real concern for me on defense. We really need to sign a stretch 4 who can play defense and rebound this off-season to see if that fixes the majority of our issues.

We kind of went all in on Mike. Not really an experiment unfortunately. We're f'd and I'm not sure where to go from here considering if we move on from him, we still have the front office and coach in place who figured it was a great idea to pony up to bring him here in the 1st place.

Like Jamychael Green is a UFA I think and he’s always been listed as a 4/5 but am I really to believe he can defend small ball 4’s like Kawhi and Lebron?

The starting lineup with Royce in for Mike works really well... like its one of the best lineups in the league... add JC off the bench and you've got 6 solid pieces.

I think a traditional 4 that could play 5 in small ball alignments is a need though... we all know who I want there. WOOD!

If Mike could be moved for wing depth and a solid backup 5 or for one piece and some salary flexibility to sign someone or for one piece and some draft considerations then we should probably do it. If not bring him off the bench next year and use exceptions to fill in the other rotation spots.

Honestly the Bulls and Knicks are the only two teams I could see having interest in him.

Sixers... maybe Orlando... and then there are some random teams that may make moves that could have interest... but yeah... he's probably ours.

What was our original offer that didn'y go through? Bricky and who else?
We don't really know... I do know after they turned us down and leaked **** out and we got one less playoff run out of the deal my offer would go way the hell down. I don't think Grayson would have been in the original deal and I believe Favs might have been.

No way Orlando does with Fultz taking the reins.

Maybe the Sixers but I wouldn’t want Horford. He’s cooked.

I’d add Detroit to my original list too. Maybe put a young pg/leader around Kennard, Wood, etc.
