MIKE ****ING CONLEY BABY!!!

Good to see your circle jerk for Conley is finally forming!!! Looks at watch...March, huh...took long enough. Glad you're not limp anymore though!

Nothing other than completely regurgitating a prev post ... solid work mental giant

Not sure why anyone would be disappointed about Conley rounding into form as we near the playoffs. The regular season is just a dress rehearsal for the big show. It did take time, but let's just be happy he's learning to fit into the system for when it counts.

Is it possible that he plays so good after playing so bad that all of Jazzfanz were arguably correct in their varied projections?

So by your own standards, better than Rubio.

I’d say it’s been a push pretty much so far. I’d still take Rubio for his defense, salary, and effort. I did expect Conley to be a slight upgrade honestly, but he hasn’t even been that.

The mere fact that even when he's off his game he has to be guarded on the perimeter is an extreme upgrade.

It might be a decent upgrade if he could use the space to find Rudy and make layups, but as it is currently I disagree.

The question of whether Conley has been an upgrade over Rubio is (unfortunately) valid. You can stew about the whys and hows, etc.; but you can’t avoid the validity of the question. Obviously a player’s impact goes well beyond how closely they’re guarded on the perimeter.
This is very true. We gave up a lot of play making, rebounding, and defense for a more dynamic scorer. It's very debatable whether that trade got us what we needed without hurting the team too much.

The guy would throw two passes a game that frustrated the hell out of me... but they were usually force feeding Rudy... now I feel like we kinda need it to get big fella going. It's the defense and getting all the loose balls and the willing ball movement. I just wonder if we moved Favs earlier if Ricky could work better with a stretch 4. We also seem to have no heart at times it seems.

I think it’s mainly some combination of the fact that Conley isn’t who they thought he was, and Conley’s individual decline.

Agreed. Even with a 2018 version of Conley imo there are issues of fit the way the team is currently constructed.

Emphasis on the last sentence. We have major heart problems.

He was in a helio-centric system that fit his offensive talents. I always thought he'd have less volume but that he'd increase his efficiency. I think he still helps us, but in a different role... honestly we are kind of using him in that different role already and he's been solid. I just think the resource allocation is the issue... not what he's giving... its what he's costing us.

Last night he was not the issue doe... we missed so many contested paint shots and floaters... we also screwed up every transition opportunity in amazing fashion.

For sure. All of this, heavy emphasis on the costs part.
