What's new

My Quarantine

My throat is starting to get that burning feeling a little and my daughter was coughing a lot before bed. I felt her head and she felt fine though. And I feel fine and wonder if mine is burning from having pasta with pasta sauce which is acidic. I don’t know.

I went for a 15-20 minute walk tonight. Nothing tiring at all. Just wanted to get some fresh air. I’d jog but I’m afraid I’ll blow out my Achilles or calf as my plantar is so shaky right now. I feel fine. My lungs might actually even feel a tiny bit better than the last few days.
Achilles blowout is no bueno. Done it to both sides. If anyone ever does it, hit me up for the tips.

The best thing to do is stay positive and if you feel good, don't worry about yourself. Worry about giving it to someone who is vulnerable. It isn't going to kill you if you're healthy and you get it. It's only deadly to the elderly and people who have serious health conditions.

Only deadly to them?

Nope.

Mostly. That means not all and certainly not “only” like you said.
There are no certainties in medicine. Or life. But in society, and in particular public policy, we like to pretend there are certainties. However, the lack of certainty doesn’t dismiss disparate probabilities. There’s very little we know about Coronavirus, but we’ll likely hear more about the cases that break the mold than the bread and butter cases.

My son's in dick mode again. I haven't gotten laid in forever. My students ask me a million dumb questions. And my back is absolutely killing me since my *** is on the sofa all day doing work.

The coronavirus would be a pleasure.

If Clinton were president you'd be praising all these actions. Like I said I don't like this either.

Whining and criticizing are different. You are a whiner.

LMFAO. Yep, that's what I'd be doing. There's nothing to praise. Your boy hasn't a ****ing clue what to do. This was obvious a week+ ago where this was headed and yet, he's still pussyfooting around this trying to continue working his shell game (see dumb payroll tax speech) with the economy.

Decent day today. Got the kids out of the house and into the backyard for a couple hours as it hit the 70’s. I’ll have some grading to do tonight but I otherwise should have the whole weekend free which will be nice and while it’s only supposed to hit the mid to high 40’s, it is supposed to be sunny both days.

Talking to the wife is frustrating. She’s gone for a walk the last couple nights which is fine. But now she’s saying how she wants to go to a park with the kids for a walk. Or go to a park at night (when they’re closed) and walk. I’m like “You haven’t gotten off your *** in five months and now you can’t manage to have an ounce of discipline and just stay in the house, backyard or for short walks, local residential streets?” I told her to wait til we see the curve sloping down which I suspect will happen some time over the next 2-4 weeks. Once we see that happen for a good 5-6 days and it seems as if the nation has a better control of this, resources more adequately available, then fine. Until then, sit on your *** like you always do wtf. So dumb.

Like this isn’t tough people. We have so many shows and movies available. The internet for dumb **** as well including ideas for family games. Board games. Read a book. There’s an infinite amount of **** to do and even if you and your kids just watch tv for 6-7 straight weeks, it’s really not that freakin long in the scheme of life. Show some common sense.

People complaining as if this is tough reminds me of my coworkers who whine about the students or admin when they can’t be an adult in the classroom and control 25 urban kids by showing them who the **** is in charge. Be a ****ing adult and do the right thing.

Our quarantine schedule in Utah.

9-4 - Wife and I do our work - kids do their homework on laptops and we make them play in the backyard for an hour or 2

5-7 - We find a hike to take our dog on his walk. The main trails in UTah are slammed so we have to find our the smaller ones. It's been fun though. Seeing some new areas.

7-9 - Dinner and a movie at home. Bought like 1k in groceries so all food is prepared at home. I prefer it that way to be honest. Plus we are getting our kids caught up on some of our childhood favorites.

9- 12 Kids are in bed, wife and I catch up on our tv shows or movies we've been wanting to see.

Go to bed repeat. Not that bad at all. Saving a ton of money. Spending more time with the family. I don't hate it.
