ONE LOVE Offensive Philosophy
Well balanced offense with attacking guards in Westbrook (27.5ppg, 7 assists) and Mitchell (24.2ppg, 4.2 assists), pick and roll, driving and dishing to the likes of Klay Thompson (21.5ppg) and Aldridge (18.9ppg) for easy 3's.

Defensive Philosophy
Westbrook, Mitchell and Thompson are all athletic 2-way players who can hold their own defensively and will be hard to beat on the perimeter.
Whiteside is having a great season defensively with 3.1 blocks per game and rebounding at a rate of 14 total rebounds per game, and 10 of those being defensive.
Bench
Lou Williams (18.7ppg) the ever reliable option off the bench. Colin Sexton is having a breakout season with 20.8ppgwhile shooting 38% from 3's. They will be providing the spark off the bench.

In my starting lineup I will employ Pick’n roll with Simmons to get the proper matchups using Jackson as the screen man allowing Simmons to drive and put pressure on the defense freeing up Jackson for open threes and opening space for Zion to cut in for easy lobs Mitchell and and Klay must stay home on Harris and CJ who are both feared long range bombers. This puts Aldridge in a Terrible no win situation.
I can also run a more conventional pick’n roll using CJ who has play making ability and using Zion as a roll man, who might be the most powerfully explosive roll man in the game.
On defense. I don’t need to get creative vs Westbrook having Simmons on my team. He can both give space but not so much that he can get great looks at three point shots. This makes him both less of a driving threat and even worse of a three point shooter than he’s been in 2019/2020 season. Bringing back the old team destroyer who shoots a lot more threes because he has less options, and since Simmons has great length it will be harder for him to make plays for his teammates.
We want to run as much as we can Whiteside and Aldridge make OL’s team a slower team. Zion and Jackson are quick athletic players that can get down court pretty effortlessly and Simmons is the perfect pg to run with them and create easy buckets.
My biggest defensive liability is probably Harris guarding other wings, but Klay is the one guy where this is less of an issue as Klay isn’t much of a ball handler. He is in the Reggie Miller mold who relies on running through screens and being set up by his team. To combat this we will always switch on Klay.
With OL being small at Guard and sf I can bring in Murray to play point taking out Harris if the matchup dictates. Or take advantage of this any point in the game.
In the end. My team is more talented and athletic up front. Mitchell and Westbrook are redundant and don’t fit. Both need the ball and have the same mind set and need to put up a lot of shots to make an impact on offense making my team a much cleaner more economical team on offense. Both Mitchell and Westbrook are Proned to bring out of control and making mistakes in crunch time. My players fit better on offense then OL’s on both sides of the court.
At every point I can maneuver to match up against OL, the same can’t be made for his team. OL can only play big, and if he tries to go small he will not be utilizing his most talented lineup.
