2020 Jazzfanz all time Jazz draft, and renaming of TJF Sweepstakes!!!

Let me know what you guys think.
It's a fun idea but it could give odd advantages. If someone who's best player is a PG and they beat a team with their best player as a PG that's not a big advantage as someone who's best player is a center and worst player is a PG. And that's just sheer luck who you get matched up against.

@Ellis269 had a cool idea to make voting portion of the draft more interesting. I’m just going to post Ellis’s message to me here. Let me know what you think. I like it though.

Basically in the final two rounds, you steal a player from the losing team you go up against. In the championship round both teams will have full ten man rosters.

From Ellis269:
1st round - narrows it down to 8 teams (6 winners + top 2 losers) and reseed. No steals.

2nd round - the 4 winners get to steal any bench player from the teams they beat to advance to semifinals.

3rd round - the top two winners get to steal any starter from the teams they beat to advance to finals.

Finals - Top 2 teams have a full roster of 10 players that gets stronger as they advance.

Thoughts? Interesting idea? Or not so much? It adds another layer of strategy to team building and keeps everyone interested and invested all the way through the voting portion of the draft.
I dig it, but I missed how the “season” and/or tournament is working. Are we having a board-wide vote for top-eight teams (then maybe seeding from those results)?

Having Stockton and DWill would be a huge advantage. I don’t understand how you think that isn’t an advantage.

We usually do the seedings randomly. If we vote on seeding, I’m worried that will influence voting.

I never said it wouldn't be an advantage. But it's a far bigger advantage to add DWill to a team the has Malone and a crappy PG. See the difference? It's a random luck game of who you face.

But if others want to do it we can change the rules again and go for it.

I guess if we do a random draw and get to pick who our opponents are each round then it's more strategy then luck. Or let the lowest seeds pick opponents first each round.

Two top voted losing teams advance to the second round. 6 winning teams plus two losing teams with the most votes.
How is it that a team is considered a “winning” team or “losing” team?

The first round has six matchups and the two losers with the most votes advance?

Two teams pitted against each other, team with most votes advances. The two losing teams with the most votes moves on.

You know how we vote? Or are you talking about something else?

It was not stated in the original post how we were getting the teams from 12 to 8 but I think I figured it out on my own.
