Alright real basketball talk here... Jarrell gonna get some run with Bojan out... I can feel it. He gonna blow the eff up too... Cut NWG and sign Brantley to his multiyear minimum now before some ******* team overpays him when he averages 20/10 to finish out the regular season.

(most of this is blatant hyperbole... but the main premise is sign him so that you can use him freely without unintended consequences.)

I approve of this post.

He's not going to play enough minutes to average 20/10, but he could make enough plays for teams to think he's the next Paul Millsap.

What do you think would be a good deal that Brantley would sign? Let's say it would be for 4 years; assuming he'll be a RFA at the end of the deal as well.

We don't need to sign him to play him.

Someone fill us in on the details of why we need to sign him.

To play him in the post season he can't be on a two-way deal. That's one reason...

Reason #2 - If he does get some run and a team likes what they see (plus what he did in the g league) they could offer him something more than the minimum that might be a shorter deal with less upside. I think we could get him on a 3/4 year minimum deal with team options baked in there. He might only get like a 2 year 6M deal if he plays well... and we'd have a chance to match... but it takes out some of the upside. I'm also scared some ******* team goes all Portland Trailblazer and makes an overpay.

This of course all hinges on him playing and doing well... but I think he's on the roster next year right? So why not give him a guaranteed deal and then you can use him without restriction. NWG ain't it so just cut him now.

Didn’t they make two-ways fully playable for the bubble or did I misunderstand that?

You don't seriously think the Jazz will/should break up this duo, do you?

I'm being more serious than kidding here. I don't think the Jazz are likely to cut anyone at this point of an odd season in which they're not particularly well positioned to make a strong playoff run. DL/JZ are not Morey.
