So keep the team the same and add Millsap at the starting 4 with probably AK backing him up. Have CJ/Hayward at the 3. Also the Jazz keep Korver and Mathews. So how many losses does this create. Just a reminder the Jazz went 53-29 last year.

The Jazz have played very well at times without Boozer being injured. So its hard to say that they well be a lot worse. Were it gets bad is if Milsap gets into foul trouble or G forgive he gets hurt for an extended period of time. I think they lose 5 games more than last year because of lack of finishing but I don't expect worse than that.

Like Ben done said, the Jazz have done purty good without Boozer, even when they were in the habit of relyin heavily on him, then had to quickly adjust.

Like my Mama usta say: "Hopper-boy, looky here: they aint just only one way to skin a cat."

Without Boozer, from day one, the Jazz can (and will) find different ways (different than throwin the ball to Boozer) to score, that's all. They'll get better d from the Paperboy to boot. Blessin in disguise, if ya ax me.

I don't know. Injuries and stuff have a habit of screwing up predictions. Plus, something may happen that we don't expect.

(I'm looking squarely at you, Koufos.)

6-7 losses, ala 08-09

What was the Jazz's record with and without Boozer that year? I see this here:

"His return to the court after missing 44 games due to injury was a quiet one statistically... he logged just over 21 rusty, ineffectual minutes, finishing with just 2 points (1-5 FG), 5 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Fortunately for the Jazz, they hardly needed even those minimal contributions to blow out the Atlanta Hawks 108-89....

That marked the fifth straight win for the streaking Jazz, who pulled their record to an underrated 34-23 and are now just three games back of Northwest Division-leading Denver Nuggets...We’re big fans of free-agent-to-be Paul Millsap, who stands as one of the top candidates for this season’s Most Improved Player Award in averaging 14.7 points, 9.3 boards, 54% FG, 2.1 assists, 1 steal, and 1.1 blocks through 51 games...Because of Millsap’s accelerated development this season and their depth elsewhere on the roster, the Jazz would likely prove a tough out in these 2009 NBA Playoffs even if Boozer were to suffer another setback and see his season end prematurely."

Of course, there are a lot more factors in play than merely whether or not Boozer played in a particular game(s). This same article also notes that:

"That they’re 11 games above .500 and still well within striking distance of a 2- or 3-seed speaks volumes about both their depth and the outstanding coaching, yet again, from that old bore Jerry Sloan. Take a look at their litany of games missed:

Carlos Boozer – 44 games
Andrei Kirilenko – 15 games
Deron Williams – 14 games
Mehmet Okur – 9 games
Paul Millsap – 6 games"

there are some dilusional fans on here if you really think we win more games without getting anything to replace booz. millsap's great as what millsap's great at, but he's not gonna command double-teams, create spacing, punish people for giving him room, etc. more importantly, without boozer, we start the season with a big man rotation of sap, koufos and fes while memo is injured. how horrible is that?

go ahead and keep vilifying boozer if it somehow makes you feel better to do so... if you get your wish, the jazz will win 40 games next season, lose deron in 2012, and be right back where we were in 2003-04. i wonder who the 2013 equivalent of aleksandar radojevic will be.

Are you under the impression that your wish to keep Boozer is gunna be granted somehow, that it, eh, Nerd?

2nd question: Are ya goin on record now as sayin the Jazz will only win 40 games next year if they lose Boozer? If so, how many ya figure they would win if they don't lose him?
