Game Thread Aug 23, 2020: Jazz vs. Nuggets - Game 4

Conley (45.1) and Mitchell (43.0) are 1st and 2nd in the entire league in playoffs PER this year. That is literally mind boggling!

I came back to this thread after a little reflection and the duel between these two players in this series has got to be an instant NBA classic. Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of the NBA. Props to Murray. His team is not down because of him, they are down despite what has been an historic effort and performance on his part. Crazy that his outstanding individual performance has actually been outshined by one of the, if not THE, most amazing individual performances in a first round playoff series in NBA history by Donovan Mitchell.

We are lucky fans right now. We should be humble and gracious.

Also, in the 4th when it was the Jazz getting 2pts and Murray getting 3pts every possession I was legit feeling a loss. Love that the Jazz just kept putting up points, but Murray seemed unstoppable. It wasn't until the Millsap "block" and subsequent Mitchell 3 that I knew the Jazz had this game and the series.

He had time before this series and had one of the best game in the playoffs ever.

Denver fans whining incessantly about that no call and free throws. Jazz were up 5 and let Murray have that last second 3. Those 2 points didn't matter.
I have watched Jazz games for longer some on this board have been alive, and there is ALWAYS some witchcraft about how the Jazz beat another team. The Utah Jazz are never allowed to beat a team because they are straight up better.

I don't think they have anything to play for at this point. I think they roll over if the Jazz don't come out soft.

He's been playing good since ASB lmao. This isnt new.

With all this talk of past Jazz players and chucking, ain't no one going to say anything about Trey Burke? Hope we get to deal with HIM next week.

Dallas is a damn good team And would give us nightmare matchups. Porzingas takes Rudy out of the paint opening up a layup drill for Hardaway and Luka. Luka Magic is something else. He might be the best player in the league. I almost fear this young and hungry Mavs team playing on house money than the Beverley-less Clippers.

Either team will be a lot better than this soft Denver team. Wish we had Bojan still...

Happy for him. Not many former lottery picks that crashed and burned have this degree of tenacity and determination to reinvent themselves and be this relevant again this many years in.

Yep.

LA or Dallas would be a tough matchup. I just hope we can end our series soon and their series goes the distance. Playing every other day can take its toll.
