Game Thread September 1, 2020: Jazz at Nuggets - Game 7

Added to Calendar: 09-01-20

Rubio finished the season with a 16.5 PER. Conley was a 14.1.
Conley playoff PER was 31.9.

He's not the problem this series. I agree he's not the best fit and I hope we can trade him for a better fit piece though. I want Mitchell at PG and Conley isn't a SG to play with him going forward.

Rubio was terrible for us. He was left wide wide open and even more open in the playoffs. Plus he couldn't defend anyone the last year.

well, first of all, i compared Niang to Bertans. Not Conely.

second, I think you are confused as to what argument I was trying to make, so here let me repeat my sentence for you:

"Conley's gotta do more on offense for us to have a chance in G7".

well. did he give us more than just 15-20 points a game?

NO. HE. DID. NOT.

His scoring tonight was a disgrace and we lost G7 just as I predicted.

So my argument stands.

End of story.

Ha, you didn't only say that. Let's see:

The only way for them to be net positive is to drop 30+ while “only” allowing 25 points from the opponent on the other end. That's the only way for him or Conley to be net positive on the court.

The problem is that Conley can "only" drop 20 when his opponent drops 30+.

scoring 20 pts a game simply isn't enough for this series. other PG can simply destroy him on the pick n roll and drop 30+ point night in and night out

And maybe I should bring all the times you call him a washed midget who can't defend, rebound, shoot, pass or dribble. I have no problem with him being criticized (he deserved that for the first few months of the season) but I do when the assesment does not consider the positives. For some reason, you've had an infatuation with Conley this season. You only see negatives even when there have been positives, just so you can support your argument (also by using some iffy numbers or false statements, like the opponet dropping 30 on him).

Well, the guy was a moron and wasted his money going to those universities. Also, your employer probably had some bad HR.

If you want to talk about other issues, or hey, chat in real life to made up your mind, send me a friend request o PMed.
The company was Amazon. Lol

I'm still really really just really really impressed.

Welcome to the era of Snyder and DL basketball folks. Where 1st and 2nd round playoff exits are our specialty.
What bothers me most about Snyder. I know it's not politically correct to knock a guy's masculinity nowadays, but damn the man is effeminate and effete. Did you see him sporting those skinny jeans in the last game? He tells the guys before game 6,"just take care of the details and we'll be alright". Sounds like a Comptroller preparing all the finance guys for the big audit. Doesn't sound like Knute Rockne, Vince Lombardo or the like. Can't even imagine him making an inspirational speech. He's a frickin control freak, reminds me of Monk. But he acts like an old lady especially when it comes to holding grudges and keeping guys in the doghouse ad infinitum. You can't tell me we couldn't have used Mudiay to spell somebody tonight or last game. Why do all our castoffs go on to being star role players on other better teams?

you learnt math right? I thought Harvard teaches Math.

what's the difference between scoring 20 then allow opponent to score 30,

and score 8 points while allowing your opponent to score 17?

I'm from UCLA myself so don't BS me.

Here you go :p

Mudiay isn't good...

Rubio shot 36.1% from three this season. Conley shot 37.5%
Yeah, he struggled early but turned things around. Rubio shot worse with the Jazz and literally was not guarded. We played 4 on 5 on offense and he was no help on defense.

I agree to get a better fit player. But Rubio was not good for us. Conley is much better.

The trade was not a great choice though. We could have done better.

One of my best friends in Mexico worked as a top manager for Amazon. She is a Chicago Booth MBA. She hated her experience there, and yeah, HR sucked big time. She got an excellent job afterwards because 'Amazon' resonates.

So yeah, going to an ivy league doesn't guarantee you are smart. Same goes for someone working at Amazon. You don't know me and I don't know you, so we can only judge what we write on a random sports forum.

And again, your colleague was a moron.

Who exactly scored 30+ on Conley? Because his assigments the whole series has been Craig and Monte Morris, except for tonight. It seems UCLA didn't do a good job teaching you.
