Read through the article... Its applicable in our case for a couple reasons...

1- Quin is a disciple of the Bud/Pop tree... and his lack of experimentation and adjustments seems to have a source.
2- We have a star that is limited because he can't shoot, create, and the defensive philosophy that makes him a star has some holes.

There was another guy who coached our beloved Jazz that came from the same school of thought. He may have been even more reluctant to adjust and cost what will arguably be our only chance at a title. I still admire Coach Sloan, but had he been able to ride a hot hand on occasion, we just may have won a chip.

We completely revamped our defense to Houston last year for the playoffs, and while the offense sputtered, after game 1 the defense worked.

He also played drop big while Jamal Murray scored 100 points a game this year.

Is it better to have Murray take a 3 or Jokic roll to the basket?
Jokic also ate plenty so wasn't like we shut something off. Scored 26 a game on super efficient shooting.

So, you're saying we should have let him roll to the basket without Gobert in the way?
I'm saying maybe you adjust and have him come up higher on the screen, maybe you try a zone, maybe you try something different to slow him down a bit. We don't try those things during the season so we don't know if they will work and then in the playoffs we keep hitting the same note hoping the sound will be different.

We have also gotten routinely roasted by shot making guards... and just said we drop big and if they make the shots they win. Problem is a lot of good teams have those players... it might be the reason our record against good teams is bad.

The Bucks remind me of the Jazz in 97 and 98. Great team that can easily win it all but buckles under pressure.

I saw some Jazz zone defense in the playoffs, and I saw some different positions on the screens by Gobert. It would work for a little while, then the Nuggets would adjust and it would stop working.

Could it be that good teams find a way to out-perform bad teams regardless of the the of defense they face? Perhaps that's why they are good teams?

All series long the jazz let Murray be comfortable, at least after DM was killing the Nuggs, they adjusted and played Joker high with DM Gobert pick’n rolls.
