Re-Tool Younger Trade Idea

It seems risky. I think of LA a couple years back before the AD trade, they had plenty of young pieces and picks but were accomplishing nothing. Now they have a very old roster, plus a top 10 player in AD (And LBJ obviously) and they are competing for a championship. I’d much rather proceed with the known, which is great talents, then trade for younger players and cross are fingers it pans out. Makes much more sense to me to continue pushing in the playoffs and hope we can break through, then throwing in the towel for young guys who we hope will develop into greater parts then we already have.
Well part of reason for LA's underachieving were because they had a terrible coach in Luke Walton who didn't know what to do with the talents at hand. He did the same thing to Sacramento and they soon lost their fast pace identity they got a season ago under Joerger. Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball all improved their games significantly at Pels. Have LA kept Walton for this season, not sure the theory of "young vs old" could still hold up.

3rd pick is kinda tricky this year because Lamelo ball were projected to be the BPA at 3rd lol. And i don't want Malik Monk cuz as a shoot-first midget guard who doesn't play defense, I don't think he fits Quin's coaching philosophy. Instead, I want Hornets' 32nd pick to draft another wing. Someone like Tyler Bey or Paul Reed should be available at that spot.

The main parts of the trade are #3 and using cap space to sign Wood.

Understandable about Bridges and PJ. I don't think they are excellent assets, but I think they could be quality depth guys for the long run. If Bridges can be another Royce and Washington a Favors type...

If they gave us monk and graham with the 3 pick and cap room to sign woods or someone around 18-20 I would maybe think it’s fair. There are too many variables around Washington. I think Devonte’ Graham is going to be a good player and monk could work his way into being a decent rotation player. Those two with the third pic and the ability to find a good FA might be worth trading Gobert but only if contract negotiations fail.

Nope. You can't see the forest for the trees. Mitchell's success doesn't have to be tied to Rudy. By the time Don hits his prime, Rudy will be a one dimensional, overpaid, past his prime big.

If these were the days of AK, you would have been one of those guys scared to trade him because you are afraid of change.

We cannot overpay or lose Rudy for nothing. Those are the main things to be afraid of.

Nope, I wanted AK gone. Our best bet at a title is over the next 4-5 years. If we trade Gobert, we will wast Mitchell’s best years as it will most likely take a long time to rebuild.

without Gobert we won’t be good enough to contend, and not bad enough for a decent draft pick. If you trade Gobert you might as well trade Mitchell.

I would like to aquire Beal. Make it so. Oh and have them throw in that 3 point sharpshooter too

You aren't following my logic at all.

I've said all along - keep Rudy on a fair contract.

My trade ideas for Rudy are based on the premise that either Rudy wants too much OR Rudy might leave for nothing next summer.

No!!! You aren’t understanding me!!! First pay him whatever he wants. Second, if you dump Gobert you may as well trade DM because he’s going no where without Gobert. That’s effectively wasting Mitchell’s best years. If Gobert is gon who is UTAH JAZZ getting to be a star along Sid DM? That’s what I thought.

If you pay Rudy whatever he wants, we can't afford anything around Don and Rudy. Duh.

Don was the reason we beat OKC in 2018. Favors was as important as Rudy in that series. Maybe we rely on Rudy too much come playoff time. Maybe we should try something different. Riding Rudy doesn't work. Ask Jokic

Mitchell is 24. He'll be in his prime the season after next, if not next season.

So, you’d rather watch the jazz in mediocrity through Mitchell’s best years. Why the **** do we need money. No stars are coming her but through trades or the draft or both at the same time. We have a better shot at building a true contender with Rudy than without. We just need some luck or take advantage of a nuggets like team.

Idiot! Mitchell is the type of player you build around with. You could move any piece on the board but you don’t move him. Wtf? He is the franchise.

Though I think we do whatever we can to lock them both in and see what we can maneuver through their contracts. I think with both we have our best chance at a chip.

The season after next Rudy is 30+. Not many centers are worth $30+ after 30.

This trade idea has us getting Wood and PJ Washington. I think both can provide what Rudy does in 2 years. And at a cheaper number.

Man, whenever people here argue why Rudy is irreplaceable & trading him is a bad idea, it makes me wonder what a different story it would've been had DL drafted Mitchell Robinson in 18.

First who the **** are you to use my line? Second. It’s easier to build around MITCHELL if Gobert is around. No one star is going to choose to come here in free agency, so if we trade Gobert we have to get lucky twice in the draft and in at least two of the next three years.
