Per an article on Hoopsworld, the Magic may have to deal Jameer Nelson to keep Dwight Howard and keep Dwight at all (https://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-pm-orlando-magic-trade-fix/):
The trade idea:
https://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=43s4uhh
Utah Trades to Orlando
Al Jefferson
Devean Harris
for
Jameer Nelson
Brandon Bass
JJ Redick
Meh, never been a Jameer fan. Product of Dwight Howard.
Anyway, Redick is overrated somehow and we have the rich-man's Brandon Bass already. So this makes a lot of sense.
No, it really doesn't significantly change the Jazz' outlook short term nor long term. No younger players, no better players. No draft picks. No shorter contracts. Only thing they'd get is one extra player while owing slightly less money overall. The Jazz' record won't significantly change with or without this trade. Thus, it's a lateral move and pointless.
Are you a Magic fan? Not the lame card game but the basketball team.
You realize half the Jazz roster is good or promising PFs, right?I would like to see Ryan Anderson in the trade.
