and of course he needed the extra 2 days to make the decision. I doubt this really had any effect on Boston's decision making, but stuff like this is definitely nice to know going into the trade season / prior to the draft.

From a financial standpoint I bet he's gotten some verbal offers for a multi-year deal maybe around 3/60 so not a bad financial decision to opt out, but that first part.... we would've had such a solid 3 star team.
 
Haywood opting out of 34 mil this year is kinda foolish if you ask me. What is even more foolish is another team offering him even more money just to sign him. Who am I kidding, there are lot of stupid GMs out there that all like to spend stupid amount of money just to sign them then regret it a year or a few years later.
 
He has to have a promise. Gordon Hayward is a lame dude and wouldnt take an unnecessary risk like that.

Anyone listen to locke or any other podcasts that have dropped any juicy nuggets on hayward? Locke always has those nice little details that give you a lot of insight. Would love to know what the front office thinks or if anything has leaked out of boston or haywards camp.
 
Knicks signing Haywood to a max deal is exactly what the Knicks do.

Locke is still butt hurt that Gordon never said goodbye to him. He gets star struck and sometimes thinks he is closer to players than he is, when the players are just being nice to the press or manipulating them for favorable coverage.

not sure. I heard Ben Howland talking about his former player who just got drafted and refered to Woodard's phsyique as "a greek figure" said in all his years of coaching he never had a kid who was built like that. Reading that i couldnt help but think of posts i saw here where Locke was saying "body of adonis" which imo is just such a worse way to phrase it.
