Maybe they want a super cheap backup?

My statement wasn't really accurate, they didn't waive him, they stretched him so they could fit in Hayward at 30M/year.

They're going to be paying him 9M/year to go away for the next 3 seasons.

Let me see if I have this straight. Up on Bey/Woodward and Portis; down on Favors/Dok, Hughes, Niang. You want your centers to shoot and your perimeter players to defend more than the other way around?

Super smart to take the BPA that can only play one position with now two super established guys that should only play one position. If that’s how simple our front office is then we should be looking for improvement.

I mean we have seen this movie before.

I want them all to shoot, I don’t want the entire defense to hinge on one dude that can be dragged from the paint, and the Jazz have squat for disruptive or athletic defenders. Playoff basketball is largely about versatility and having fewer exploitable weaknesses (while obviously having select overwhelming strengths). Defense should begin and end at the rim, but there are other guys that can and should help, and I don’t think burning scant assets on players that at most can only play backup to a franchise player is wise.

I would also like this team to have any kind of edge whatsoever. Not terribly keen on how Disney they are.

If you have any further questions, my favorite team if this were a matter of choice is the Miami Heat.

This is the part where I remind people we were last or near last in steals deflections and loose balls recovered... but yeah the only problem was the 12 minutes that Rudy sits.

The Jazz have a grand total of eight NBA players currently, usually (and should) play nine, and should probably have ten (for insurance).

If Niang is playing minutes you need another player. If Brantley and/or Morgan can sufficiently fill his role next year then you’re right.

Seems like Nuggets replacing him with Greg Whittington, a talented reclamation project who apparently spent time in G-League and Europe learning how to take his profession seriously. 6-9 3&D type. Half of Nuggets' fans seem thrilled Malone can no longer play Craig. The other half appreciate his hard-working if low-skilled play.

I’m on record as being a fan. If he goes for the min that’s criminal. We don’t have a ton of minutes but Miye isn’t proven and I’m skeptical Quin gonna give him 15 minutes a night.
