Utes 2011 Football Discussion

Hays definitely has an arm but he is showing his inexperience so far. You take the sack to avoid that interception to end the half.

Again, you can't hold onto the football then you won't win games. 5 turnovers. This team will not be competitive until they actually get a QB that is competent. The defense needs to be commended for their performance today. The score might not show it but they have been on the field a lot of the game and are absolutely exhausted by this point.

So if Utah is struggling this much in their Pac-12 games, I wonder if BYU could ever play within 6 TD's of most teams in the better conferences. They should have stayed in the MWC and been the proverbial big fish in the small pond.

Did no one teach you that the transitive property doesn't always apply in sports?

I think both teams will take their licks early in their respective conferences(if BYU does eventually get into the Big 12). That being said, you can't turn the ball over multiple times and expect to be successful. You end up running your defense ragged. Terrible job by the offense yet again.

yikes.

BYU, Utah, and Utah State are having horrible seasons so far. All are underachieving, severely...

Utah needs to fix their QB situation... Either Wynn needs to find Dirk's rehab chamber or Hays needs to eat, drink, and sleep film.

Until they stop turning the ball over, they'll struggle to remain competitive.

You can only leave your defense out to dry so many times before it bites you in the butt...

I agree. Each has had major chances to have a better record. For Utah it is all about not being able to hold onto the ball. For Utah State it is all about melting in the 4th Quarter of games. For BYU it is a little bit of both. It seemed they took their foot off the accelerator in the Texas game and then the turnovers in the Utah game. I am okay with losing. I get sick of seeing a football team shoot themselves in the foot over and over again by throwing dumb picks or not being able to hold onto the football.
