Did you ever watch "The Americans"? Hell of a show.
 
BTW of the shows in the poll, Shameless was my favorite. Im actually watching all 11 seasons again this time with my wife. We are on season 5 currently and she absolutely loves it too. Great show.

We really liked it until the season that Ian takes over the church and blows up the bus or whatever. That season sucked, just got too ridiculous.

I feel ya. That storyline sucked. However, ian and mickeys relationship became my favorite storyline in the entire series by the end. And mickey is my favorite character on shameless.

One of the most frustrating shows of all time. How many stupid decision can one family make? Every single one of them squander way after way after way of getting out of their own hells. I get thats the pointof the show but at some point its became too much.

My rankings

At some point Kev, Viv, and Frank were the only ones I could handle. Everyone else was too stupid to deal with.

To some extent i think it's probably realistic though.
Luckily for me I was raised in the suburbs of utah (even if it was kearns) in a great family with great parents.

Now I had friends being raised by single moms whose dad's were lifelong criminals and whose mom's smoked crack right in front of them. Some whose dad had them breaking cocaine into individual bags to sell when they were 14. I watched many of those friends make horrible stupid decisions all the time. Kinda born into ****ed situations and nurture (nature too as I'm not sure their genetics were all that great) kind of made them into poor decision makers.

So a a group of 6 children born in the bad part of chicago to a dad like frank and a mom like monica might be expected to make horrible stupid decisions over and over again as they grow up with nothing and mostly raise them selves in the ghetto with mental illness in their genes and about the worst role models ever for parents.
