So we’d have to waive someone. I don’t think the FO really wants to do that, but we’ll see. Obviously I’m on the OPJ wagon, but Harkless would be worth consideration. If Olynyk got bought out he would also be nice, but he’s probably go elsewhere because he won’t get minutes here. One guy that just got waived that I’d definitely look at if you didn’t have other options is Gorgui Dieng. If Favors has injury or Gobert is in foul trouble, how much is Quin trusting Morgan and how much of an unknown is it? A guy like Dieng can come in and not expect to be in the rotation at all, but can grab boards, has size, and can hit the three. I think he gives you an experienced guy of what you’d hope Morgan could be, but has more size, better rebounding, and a more proven three point shot.

I’m surprised he got bought out. All indicators I see are that he’s a good and useful player.

This is an unusually robust buyout crop. People have to want to come here, but it seems like a serious lost opportunity if the Jazz don’t get anyone (if only to keep them off another competitor).

Probably not a lot of dudes willing to sign for the minimum to play the deep bench for the Jazz.

Gotta keep Drummond and Aldridge in the East. Rooting for the Knicks and Heat.

Really hate how the LA teams always get another ****ing free boost of talent at this stage in the competition. —**** the nba, is what it basically comes down to.

You silly goose, if we get any of the players mentioned in your post, Morgan is the casualty of the roster.

I like dieng... protects the rim a bit... shoots a bit and by all accounts is a great dude. I honestly think he could help a contender more than some of the other name guys. I’d be shocked if he didn’t have other options... I think Boston, Miami, Brooklyn, Lakers are all looking at bigs.

I really think unless OP really wants to come here we are done. The fear you had with the addition of Matt is legit... I don’t think we will be aggressive at all on the buyout market. It’s fine I guess... at this point with no practice time at all I think we just roll with Niang/Oni and maybe Ersan at some point. It makes my wiener flaccid but my Shaq boner never really bore fruits.

I noticed Jeff Teague got waived. He was taken in the 2009 draft one pick ahead of perhaps the Jazz worst first round pick ever Eric Maynor. That was the draft Bricky Ricky was a high pick.

That’s weird... it isn’t like there is a ton of minutes there. Guess he thinks that’s the best shot at a ring. Adds to all the super fun personalities on that team.

Dieng will go to SAS
