Stephen A. smith is on Drugs

You’re wrong. And it’s clear you don’t know Stockton and Malones full resume or game. Donovan is NOWHERE NEAR Stockton and Malones currently. Not in the same stratosphere at the movement. He can be, 10 years from now(which won’t happen), a couple finals trips or a championship. But nowhere near them right now. He has won TWO playoff series. You are not the second leading scorer in NBA history, a 2 time MVP, 2 finals runs, multiple all defense team, and an All Star more than 10 times by accident. This is a trash take. Karl Malone would dominate the game of basketball any era, any day, any time.

oh and btw Stockton has 2 unbreakable records and made multiple all defense teams, will Donovan ever even do that? His defense is treacherous most the time. Stockton’s looks don’t mean he couldn’t play any time.

You like John and Karl a lot

I've been watching the NBA since I was a kid in the 60s. In my opinion, the players today are better than ever -- even the scrubs have athleticism that was rare in those days. And so far as John and Karl, DM has a long way to go to match them -- both are probably top-20 all-time -- but so far as natural ability he does surpass them. It remains to be seen though how far he will take his talent.

I like the guys responsible for the franchise even still being where it is today because of their hall of fame careers and commitment to the franchise? Gasp.

Yes

Their basketball careers are far superior to this point, it’s not close. This isn’t debatable. Stephen A Smith said we he said for reaction, cause it ain’t based in any logical thought.

The conversation isn't about accomplishments. It's about the player at their absolute peak. Who impacts wins more at their absolute peak? Who can do the most in any era?

Players now are better than ever before. The skill, speed, size, range, everything.

Imagine if we had Donovan on those Stockton Malone teams. We woulda won the ship for sure. Don’t get me wrong, I liked hornacek, b Russ and Shandon Anderson but a wing like Donovan woulda taken us to a different level.

Probably the players who won more games, had more all star appearances, all defense teams, MVP’s, etc. HE HAS WON 2 PLAYOFF SERIES. Did you see Stockton and Malones supporting cast? Donovan is not a superior player at this point. He has accomplished very little. TWO playoff series. The nonsense that Stockton and Malone wouldn’t be the same players today is just that. Nonsense. Karl Malone was a **** person, but one of the 20 greatest basketball players to ever walk this earth as of now and Donovan is nowhere…..NOWHERE near that conversation. It is a wild, ridiculous, embarrassing notion to think differently at this point. It just is. He is nowhere near the best basketball player to play for this franchise as of now. This convo is 7-8 years away minimum. Stephen A Smiths take got Doris Burke, Derek Harper (the dude who refused to be traded to Utah that would have won us a title as a final piece) George Karl and many NBA players, coaches, and media to come out and say he’s crazy lol.

This might be true for players on average, but definitely not true for the elite athletes.

Also you would have to on level all the older athletes to the newer athletes level by accounting for the fact that if the older players were playing in today's era they would have access to the same facilities, training, steroids, etc as today's players,.
