What's new

IF we lose this series…

Yeah, and that's why the Jazz have been holding Mike out.

Imagine if he pushes the hammy and blows his knee out? This era of the Jazz really relies on Conley having 2-3 more good years while the Jazz transition to new playmakers through some divine luck in the draft or free agency.
I get that... I really do... this year is the best opportunity we will have to win a title imo. Conley likely declines a bit the next couple years and has already started to struggle with injuries. Joe and Bogey ain't spring chickens. Not saying he should rush back if he isn't ready, but being overly cautious with an eye towards the next couple years may not be the best course of action.

If he can't go... then he can't go. I'm not sure what difference 12 days versus 14 days really means... what if the magic number is 16... and what if he doesn't come back at all this series and then gets a better offer in FA? I'd be surprised if he doesn't play game 5 unless they just know he is out the whole series and are trying to keep the Clips guessing.

When you are down by a million the other quarters have less meaning... last night was one real quarter and extended garbage time.

And that's why I always say final score is meaningless. The game last night was really only played in the first quarter, and in that quarter the Jazz got walloped. They lost. Final score tells us nothing.

If Mike Conley can't come back in this series, it means that the Mike Conley experience has been a failure and the Jazz should move on from him.

A guy who is that age and who is overmatched physically probably won't stay healthy.

People wake up. We need him back. There is no cap space and nobody else we can sign.

This thread when the Jazz are tied 2-2?

@nateboz was talking nonsense about how weak players are nowadays. **** you want to see weak, look at some of you! You're all people who made an account on jazzfanz.com, the world's best jazz fan message board. WTF are you doing here if you're jumping ship in a series where the Jazz are tied 2-2?

Obviously you either didn't go through the early 90's as a Jazz fan or you just straight up forgot. Being a Jazz fan ain't easy. So if you want being a fan to be easy then go sign up on some Lakers message board, then on the Patriots message board then the NY Yankees message board. You're not gonna get a championship every year, but you'll never have to wait long and when things are even kind of good you'll be able to tune into ESPN and hear all about your marvelous team.

So if that's what you want GTFO and go get what you want you instant gratification, no guts, no commitment, no confidence, nothingfans.

Stop polluting this fantastic fan message board with your anxiety laden tripe. The Jazz are tied 2-2 with a team that was projected to be a WCF guarantee .

Those boys have to come back up the hill to our house, where the seats are full and the air is thin. If you're jumping off the bus right now don't bother getting back on after game 5. Go find another team.
Lmao. You’d almost think that a message board was a place meant for people to blow off steam amongst other fans of the same team. You people get too wound up about others showing negative emotion.

If he doesn't come back in this series and we lose this series, there is no reason whatsoever to call the trade a success.

We can probably now say it wasn't our worst trade ever, but we should all be underwhelmed by the trade if he misses the entire 2nd round.

If he just leaves this summer.....

What happens during the offseason? Predictions, please.

My guess is that we would look at our regular season success and would largely run it back to the frustration of many.

Anything short of the conference finals is a failed season. Even the ‘15 Hawks made the conference finals.
In a much easier conference. The Clips are one of the two most talented and deep teams in the league. I am not surrendering but I don't recall the last time a 4 seed was anything like the Clips.

Because in our crystal ball we should have known he would get hurt?

Seeding doesn't matter as much as matchups... teams have adjusted accordingly. Clips were a pre-season title favorite. They are legit. Nothing truly wrong with losing to them... just sucks we had them in the corner and they fought us off and now have a pretty clear advantage... at least right now.

But the Jazz aren't keeping this roster in tact anyway. They are absolutely going to dump a rotation player if they retain Conley. Maybe Conley is a better asset than whoever they decide to dump. But maybe a guy that can't play 5 consecutive games isn't that useful in the playoffs.

I'm in favor of keeping Conley to preserve the asset, but shedding a player will result from that.

Maybe drafting anyone that even has a chance to be useful would've been a good idea. Doke's best shot at that is Favors being the one jettisoned.

Nah... it’s not that bad, we can beat them at home, but without Mike it most likely takes 7 games to beat them. If we win that is.
Sorry, what the **** games have you been watching? The Jazz needed a god-mode Mitchell at home in games 1 and 2 to eek out wins, and got ****ing embarrassed in the last two games.

I don't understand the arrogance of some people around here because that's exactly what it is. This Jazz team has to maximize every detail to be as good as they have been and the Clippers can give half-effort and find their way in the finals. It's just reality.

It is bad, dude. Clippers win tomorrow and the series is over.

We don’t know that for sure.

In the case we do have to shed someone I will take Conley over Ingles/Clarkson/Favors without hesitation.

It also depends on how much Conley re-signs for if he does.
