NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

So now the Clippers cant make a shot??? PG looks about the same as game 3-6 against us but the rest have went back to average, go figure....
They're facing a team that actually has more than one good defender.

Their gameplan also doesn't involve leaving good 3 pt shooters completely wide open.

Fish... I ain’t trying to insult you. You don’t measure Tuck based off his stats... you just don’t. KD has never needed to score 50 a game so he has not tried... his usage was high after game 3... he needed to be super human every night for them to win and Tucker didn’t let him get there and made him earn it every time he did. There wasn’t a huge bidding war because GMs are dumb like us and thought he was washed because he wasn’t playing hard... if Tuck isn’t playing hard he’s garbage. He just wanted out... it’s the Blake Griffin effect.

side note it sucks that guys like Tucker and Bev can literally murder guys for 40
Minutes and get away with it. Can you imagine how quickly Royce fouls out doing that ****? It’s partly reputation and part referee intimidation. Nba officiating is a damn clown show.
I will just post once more about this cause i have already provided tons of factual statistical info rather than just opinion/eye test bias stuff but durant has played in 27 playoff series in his career. The series that he averaged the most point per game in was the one when he went up against the mighty tucker.
I mean through all of this discussion no one has provided any actual evidence of tuckers greatness. I mean isn't there some plus minus, vorp, or some other advanced stats that at least show his greatness? We know his shooting percentages, points per game, rebounding numbers, assist numbers, free throw rate, free throw percentage (60 lol), PER, etc all suck and we know he wasn't highly sought after and isn't on a big money contract and we know he is 36 years old and isn't long or athletic and we know that Durant just had his best scoring playoff series of his career against tucker. These are all things that we can actually all see.
I get that raw stats cant show everything and understand what you mean by you dont measure him based off his stats. But his stats do show some things right? Like I think you might be able to agree that averaging 4.7 points per game per 36 minutes would indicate that he isn't exceptional offensively at putting the ball in the basket. Is that too slanderous against him or is it ok to at least admit that?

So far all I have heard proving his greatness is "just watch him play" (i did), and "you cant measure his greatness with stats", and" NBA GM's are dumb" you just have to trust jazzfanz message board posters.

And the clippers are winning.

Demarcus Cousins doing what a center should against small ball. While Gobert can barely catch a ball smh

Watching this game makes me think the Jazz are a very basic team. We either stand around the 3 point line and shoot 3 pointers or we watch Mitchell/Clarkson play iso ball. Meanwhile, there has already been multiple adjustments in this Clippers/Suns game, and they actually cut, post up, move the ball, etc.

His team was a -5 though while he was in and he probably barely plays for a reason.

Ya, jazz almost never make any adjustments on either end it seems. Im actually excited for this series to see what Lue does. Cause he might just try anything and everything to find what will work.

Booker needs to pass the ball. He's playing like Mitchell did (i.e. 1 vs 5 basketball)
yep, and he isn't as good at it as mitchell is.

I like the CP3-less Suns. If CP3 was not allowed or not able to play another game for this playoffs, I'd want them to win the whole thing.

Yeah, I meant it the other way around.
Thats what figured must have been the case. No worries.
They made a dumb mistake picking cousins over harden. Though at the time I understood it and didn't thing it was that big a mistake (not knowing harden was a future league MVP)
At the time i thought they should have kept durant, harden and ibaka and gotten rid of westbrook. I was never a fan of westbrook.

Ayton playing well. And the suns doing a good job getting him good looks at thr basket when thr Clippers went small. God I hope Snyder is gone

Also, Ayton is eating the Clippers 5-out lineups alive. We should have been able to do that and it feels like we didn't even try to attack that weakness.

Games 2, 5, and 6 also had critical stretches against their 5-out lineups where our offense just died once the 3 went cold. The weakness was right there to exploit, and instead we just kept iso-ing and chucking away.
